Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Build quality, dead neutral, clear improvements in sound
Cons: not exactly cheap
The cable is shiny and doesn't tangle easily. The connecters look to be of higher quality than in the picture. It has heatshrink on the ends near the plugs, but it doesn't look like some DIY type project. There's a bunch of spam like patent notices on the cable, but it will wear off in a year probably.
As for the sound.. instruments feel like they have a bit more weight to them and sound more realistic. You'd think the mid-bass would be more shoved forward, but it's not at all. It doesn't make the mids of my mid-forward headphone any more forward or "Shouty". No extra treble or rolled off treble. I would say that everything sounds a bit fuller sounding. Not too much, but just slightly.
More detail as well, but without that extra treble to fool my ears. Soundstage is also improved, but not that much of a difference.
I've found this is much better than my DIY Mogami and Canare cables. This one doesn't sound like any of those. The Mogami is fairly neutral, but this Cardas is even more so.
Sometime I'll try the Q701 Cardas cable. Cardas stuff is fairly pricy it seems like, but might be worth it on a favorite headphone.
BTW I got this as an open box for $35, but it would be worth the current price.
