Cardas Balanced Headphone Cable for HD650 10ft.
If you're buying our amazing HeadRoom Balanced Ultra Desktop Amp (BUDA), you MUST have balanced headphone cables and we think the Sennheiser HD650 and HD600 are both terrific headphones very worthy of balanced operation. So once you've cabled up your beloved cans and connected a great audio source to your balanced-drive, XLR HeadRoom BUDA amp, you'll have your own little slice of blissful audio heaven to curl up in.
To replace the cables of your HD600 or HD650, simply pull the cable connectors out with a firm straight tug (DO NOT TWIST!) and then simply plug in your new Cardas cable. Unlike other replacement cables, Cardas custom molds the connectors and uses a four-conductor cable to dramatically reduce the number of solder joints. Cardas Audio headphone replacement cables with full-sized 1/4" inch stereo plugs are available in 10ft / 15ft/ 20ft lengths and also a short 4-ft mini-plug (3.5mm) single-ended [non-balanced] cable for clean portable player connectivity.
The Cardas Balanced HD650/HD600 XLR headphone cables come in either 10ft, 15ft or 20ft lengths.

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Excellent build quality, nice flexible cable
Cons: Slightly microphonic, tad expensive.
I previously had the single ended Cardas cable of a slightly different cable material, this was constructed from a thicker blue cable. In comparison, I can say that the balanced grey cable is an improvement overall. The older blue cable is thick, readily shows dirt that has been picked up, and is a bit inflexible. The grey cable is a nicer color and is easier to manage however the cable has some slight microphonics that you can pick up that the older did not. If you draw your hand across the cable's length you can hear it in your headphones though this is not a problem when listening to music.
Overall, the build quality appears to be excellent. Other than the slight microphonics I believe that the cable is still a bit overpriced but regrettably it represents one of the more inexpensive balanced cable upgrades available for the HD600/HD650. For future headphone cable upgrades, I would not hesitate to continue purchasing Cardas versions.
