Now at HeadRoom, JMoney's superb lambskin full-size DENON V.2 earpad replacements are hand-sewn one at a time and offer a noticeably softer, thicker, much more finely grained hand with a significantly deeper ear well compared to the stock DENON earpads. Extreme attention to detail with only selected top quality materials used throughout like buttery-smooth Italian leather make these a vastly superior earpad versus the 'stock' DENON editions. The luxurious JMoney earpads are a supremely comfortable wearing experience and easy to replace. Please allow about 20-25 hrs of listening/wearing to allow the earpad leather to fully 'break-in' and conform to the ears. Thanks for the awesome work, J$!
Installation Instructions: Installation is very simple and can be performed by anyone. You just push down on your old earpads and twist. This will unlock the plastic locking mechanism that secures the earpads. After that, you carefully remove the old ear pads, and fit the JMoney Audio pads over them carefully by working the securing lip of the pads over the plastic piece. However, if you don't feel comfortable installing them on your own, you may send your headphones to JMoney for installation -- you are responible for all shipping charges.
Sold in pairs only. Includes a fabulous J$ linen storage bag for the earpads. Earpads will fit the full-size DENON AH-D2000, AH-D5000, and AH-D7000 headphones only.

Pros: excellent quality, offers a better soundstage, tighter fit, real leather
Cons: significantly reduces bass impact, less comfort, tighter fit
Over time, certain things became apparent. With the JMoney pads in full use for many months, the minor issues started to add up. First and foremost, comfort. Simply put, they are not as comfortable as the stock pads. I found myself continuously adjusting them on my head to reduce uncomfortable pressure points. Not only is there more padding in the JMoney pads, the material is much more stiff.
Even though soundstage was improved, in the end it did not offset the bass and comfort issues. Generally speaking, my overall experience with these pads was reduced pleasure with my music. It felt less engaging and immediate than before the pad switch. I felt like an observer rather than an active participant. Once I switched back to the stock Denon pads, all of these issues magically disappeared.
I felt the need to write this review since Headroom does NOT offer a 30-day money back guarantee on this product, unless it is defective.
My final word: the Denon D7000 stock headphones are as close to perfect as can be. I am now convinced that Denon knows what they are doing.
One more thought: I am keeping the JMoney pads. They are great, despite their flaws. All I need is another plastic ring, and then I can interchange stock and JMoney with impunity.
However, given a choice of one over the other, I confidently choose stock.
