Shure's foray into the world of high-performance headphones is proving to be a raging success and has expanded to incorporate great cans in nearly all categories and prices. The extremely well-priced Shure SRH440 headphones have a mid-sized circumaural construction with full-size sealed earcups designed to deliver excellent isolation in mobile listening or recording studio use. The proprietary Shure-engineered 40mm drivers deliver focused audio reproduction across the entire frequency range with a clean, articulate, and well-balanced musical presentation that neither leans too far forward nor is overly warm or 'laid-back' sounding. This nicely even-toned but still highly dynamic sonic signature well-serves listeners of all stripes seeking top sealed headphone audio performance without climbing up the steep & rocky side of the 'diminishing audio returns' curve. At this great price, the Shure SRH440 provides an assured fabulous return on your headphone investment.
The all-black Shure SRH440 headphones have a 9.5ft detachable coiled cord and a hinged collapsible construction for ease of transit or travel. The user-removeable cord terminates to a 1/8" [3.5mm] gold-plated mini jack; a screw-on 1/4" full-size stereo plug adapter is handily included in the package. The large sealed-back earcups are padded in a soft leather-type material that remains comfortable for long listening sessions and withstands heavy-duty usage. The round earpad cushions will typically completely encircle the earlobes on most wearers. As another plus, the clamping force of the headband is not overly pressurized on the head while still delivering good isolation specs, a fair rarity in the closed 'monitoring headphone' category. A Shure soft-sided headphone travel pouch is also thoughtfully provided. The free 2-year manufacturer's warranty coverage is serviced exclusively by Shure ONLY when proof-purchased at genuine Shure vendors - like HeadRoom!
HeadRoom is a 100% SHURE-Authorized Headphone Dealer! Your free Shure manufacturer's warranty coverage remains intact with all HeadRoom purchases. Always buy SHURE headphones from verified 'factory-authorized' vendors and keep the purchase receipt to maintain free 2-year premium warranty coverage.

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Lighter than other popular ones, Comfortable, great price
Cons: coiled cable (but thats just me)
I did a run-in for 4 hrs, and finally these are my evaluations for how the headphone performed on different genres of music -
LOWS MIDS HIGHS
ELECTRONIC/ 7 8.5 9
TRANCE
HOUSE 8 7 8
ROCK 7 8 8
RNB 8 9 8
CLASSICAL 7 9 9
The boomy bass was reproduced nicely, sustains were also impressive, but these will not give you 'warm' or heavy bass. These are, for the most part, neutral headphones with a little extra emphasis on higher-mids and highs.
Overall, this is a definite recommendation for someone looking for headphones under $100.

Pros: Sound, Quality constuction,Classic style,Bayonet clip cord, Block out most noise
Cons: Ear pads comfortable but a litte big for wearing outside the house.
I use them with my computer, and Denon reciever mostly, and they perform great. They are also comfotable for long periods of time. These are not noise canceling but really block out the outside world. I used them on my last plane trip and they blocked out most ofthe engine noise.
