Astrodyne Switching Power Supply

After a slew of requests from our more peripatetic audiophile customers, we are now offering an excellent Astrodyne 'auto-switching' power supply that provides clean, quiet, robust current on demand for the HeadRoom Desktop Amp, Balanced Desktop Amp, and the AC-power HeadRoom Micro products without having to necessarily shell out for the upscale HeadRoom Desktop Power Supply (DPS). The Astrodyne will work anywhere on the planet you can find an AC outlet so no need to have several power supplies in different voltages for each country of destination. However, please keep in mind the high-current HeadRoom DPS will still be required for maximized audio performance with the top-level Max module /Max DAC componentry in the HeadRoom Desktop Amp.

The Astrodyne shows nice performance gains over the linear regulated AC “wall-wart” included with all HeadRoom Micro & HeadRoom Desktop models. The Astrodyne measures exceedingly low current ripple in our lab bench tests and has a quite precise & quick-response voltage regulator tracking circuit that is significantly superior to the one in the linear power supply. The Astrodyne input voltage is auto-selecting and will operate with any worldwide voltage by simply using a standard IEC power cable suitable for that country's plug type. (FYI~ An IEC power cable is the 3-prong cord typically used for powering most electronic products. IECs are equipped with various electronics-side connections depending on your product but the wall-plug contains appropriate AC terminations depending on where in the world you’re plugging in your wonderful audio oasis.)
