The universe of ethernet-transmitted, reference-quality sound is now available and abundantly clear in the near-field of your desktop once you harness the finesse & horsepower of the HeadRoom Desktop Power Amp and a pair of world-class mini-monitors. Rather than roast in the radiated heat of a traditional power amp of this caliber, the extraordinary efficiency of Class-D amplification lets the HeadRoom Desktop Power Amp delivers cool, natural, and amazingly adroit amplification for your favorite pair of high-end mini-monitors right on your desktop. Yup, an amp small enough to fit in a nook on your desk and still have plenty of room for keyboard, mouse, multiple mounds of paper, and a coffee cup. Sorry, you won’t be able to keep your coffee warm on it.
The 50-watt HeadRoom Desktop Power Amp uses the latest generation of Class-D amplifier electronics from Bang & Olufsen for superb sound. The amplifier contains an ICEPower 50ASX-2 module which performs signal amplification, AC/DC conversion, and fault protection. It includes a front panel mute switch, auto shut-down features for overcurrent and thermal overheat protection, and additional circuitry for power supply regulation, input buffer and mode selection capabilities. Uber-beefy high-quality rear panel connectors are by Cardas Audio and WBT Electronics. The Desktop Power Amp contains its own AC to DC, and DC to DC conversion circuitry; no additional outboard power supply is required. *Also available in 220VAC [+/- 15v] power supply configuration upon customer request for overseas/international voltages at no extra charge. Don't forget to look at our Audiophile Desktop Starter Package to enjoy extra savings on a complete system!

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Musical, Great Low-End, Smooth Highs, Detailed Sound
Cons: Poorly marketed, lack of detailed specs Headroom, long break-in, no balanced inputs
has detailed, useful specs for the 50ASX2 on the downloadable pdf data sheet. Seriously try one of these in any small to medium set-up - it could replace your current big crappy hot heavy transformer hum-inducing butt-ugly space-wasting power-wasting stereo amplifier.
