The AKG K 401 are a solid performer, with a warm sound and a comfortable fit. They present a forward musical presentation that jumps out at you. Clear highs and tight bass team up to deliver a sound that's perfect for rock and pop fans. They are also lightweight and comfortable. These headphones would be a good match for a home system or a portable with an amp; they ask a bit much from a portable by itself.
The K 401 are quality headphones for the price. They have a spring-loaded, leather headband that automatically adjusts to your head for a lightweight, unrestrained fit. Their padded earcups are airy and comfortable. They have a straight cord that attaches to one earpiece, eliminating double cord tangling. They are terminated to a mini and include a 1/4 inch adapter.
