Balanced headphones (used along with balanced headphone amps) offer superb clarity, resolution and soundstage. You can purchase stock balanced headphones, or some models are available for after-market recabling.
HeadRoom released the world's first balanced headphone amp back in 1999, and since then balanced headphone drive has become the pinnacle of headphone fidelity for many enthusiasts and audiophiles. Balanced headphones have two XLR terminations, one for the left channel and one for the right. The left and right headphone drivers are then actively driven at both sides of the coil with normal and inverted audio signals.
Stock balanced headphones are listed below for purchase.
A few headphone models have after-market cables that can be purchased and user-replaced.
Some headphones can be re-terminated to balanced drive right in our HeadRoom factory. Visit our article on Recabling Headphones to learn more.
