The Beyerdynamic DT 770 - 32 Ohm is has been around in one form or another for eons. It's a sturdy sealed headphone that delivers a terrifically textured bass response and well-delineated musical detail impressive for a sealed-back design. The DT 770 offers very good timbral transparency and acoustic extension on the uppermost treble ranges notable for the 'closed cup' headphone category and this updated 32 Ohm model can be easily driven from mobile/portable or weak-amped audio sources without a dedicated headphone amp. The recessed midranges of early DT 770 editions has been made more nicely present and better-detailed with improved focus. The soundstage presentation remains expansive, although not quite as airy as with master-level (read: very expensive) open-back cans. Leisurely 'burn-in' time [200~300hrs+] should help relax and sweetly round-off the DT 770's slightly forward uppermost treble ranges heard brand-new out of their box.
The Beyerdynamic DT 770 - 32 Ohm has grey/silver-colored rounded earcups padded with a velour material providing a loose, comfortable fit around the ears -- easy to wear and light-feeling for a large full-size headphone. The DT 770 headband design minimizes undue clamping force and is covered by a cushy padding that feels pleasantly soft. The headband mechanism sports durable metal alloy supports connecting the headband to the earcups, and a (non-detachable) straight cable exits from the left side. The 9-foot cord terminates to a threaded 1/8" (3.5mm) mini-plug and a full-size 1/4" inch gold-plated adapter plug is in the package. As another plus, a leather soft-sided, foam-padded storage/travel bag is also included with all DT 770 models. A free 2-year manufacturer's product warranty remains standard with Beyerdynamic headphones when proof-purchased from true 'Beyerdynamic-authorized' vendors -- like HeadRoom!
