Applications:
The Beyerdynamic DT770 is an old-school, sturdy sealed headphone with a terrifically textured bass response, especially for a closed-earcup design. This 250-Ohm DT770 model also offers very good timbral transparency and acoustic extension on the uppermost treble ranges impressive for the 'closed cup' headphone category. The recessed midranges of early DT770 editions has been made more nicely present and is now better-detailed and more cleanly textured to our HeadRoom ears. The overall soundstage presentation remains expansive and open, although not as airy as with top-level open-back cans. Some leisurely burn-in time should help relax and round-off the DT770's slightly bright-toned uppermost highs. This Beyerdynamic DT770 headphone is also very demanding to power/drive correctly [250-ohm impedance rating] and low sensitivity to boot; please check the 32-Ohm DT770 edition for use in portable audio settings without a dedicated headphone amp or ultra-powerful laptop / PC soundcard.
The Beyerdynamic DT 770 - 250 Ohm headphone has grey/silver-colored rounded earcups padded with a durable velour material featuring a loose comfortable fit around the ears -- very cool and light-feeling on the head for a full-size sealed-back headphone. The DT 770 headband design is solid but minimizes undue clamping force; the headband is covered by a cushy padding that feels soft on the top of the noggin. The headband mechanism sports beefy-looking metal alloy joints that connect the headband to the earpieces, and a single-sided 'straight' cable exits from left earcup. The 9-foot long cord is terminated to a1/8" (3.5mm) 'mini' plug and a full-size 1/4" inch gold-plated adapter plug is handily included in the package. As a nice plus, a soft-sided foam-padded storage/travel bag is also included with the DT770 model. The free 2-year manufacturer's product warranty remains standard with all Beyerdynamic headphones when proof-purchased at authorized Beyer dealers -- like HeadRoom!
