Sennheiser adidas HD 25 Originals

DISCONTINUED / SOLD-OUT. The HD25-1 has always been one of the best-sounding mobile/portable-use headphones on the market. The nifty adidas 'Originals' co-branding adds beefier cabling and bolder cosmetics to the newest HD25-1-ii model, bringing this classic can into colorful lockstep with savvy modern headphone culture.
Product Features:
- Awesome sound for DJ and mobile listening headphones
- Cool adidas cosmetics and tough cord design
- 2-year manufacturer's warranty when purchased via authorized Sennheiser dealers (like HeadRoom!)
What's In The Box:
- 1/4" plug adapter
Applications:
The latest iteration of a hugely successful design, the Sennheiser HD25-1-II Originals remains a pro-oriented, sealed-back 'on-ear' headphone offering excellent sound quality performance and highly effective headband versatility -- with some added coolness courtesy of Adidas Sports. The proprietary construction design is a superb choice for active users who demand durable headphones that stay where they need to be no matter how hot the jams or exercise routine gets. The HD25-1-II Adidas Originals is also great for commuters/travelers, gym rats, DJs, studio session pros, beatmakers, recordists and producers working mixing desks, computer-based audio interfaces, and analog/digital recording consoles. The HD25-1-II Adidas sonic signature: Well-defined lows with a tightly damped, full sound in the bass; very even-sounding mids, nicely present and quite punchy; and smoothly extended upper highs. The HD25-1-II Adidas represents Sennheiser's top flagship 'sealed/closed' category headphone so expect a well-designed 'supraural' headphone perfect for airplane travelers or just for excellent headphone sound quality anywhere you want your tunes.
Although it will definitely GREATLY benefit from a headphone amp when used with any portable audio player, the HD25-1-II Adidas Originals should still deliver usable volume levels with iPods, iPads, MP3, and computer sources even without a dedicated headphone amplifier -- although it may sound a bit 'flat' and musically un-dynamic used directly from weaker portable players. Amp users will hear more defined lows and clearer extension in the upper highs for serious listening.
The most unique feature of these classic cans is the headband that surrounds the head almost like a hat brim. You can easily wear it over a baseball hat or even over our neat-o HeadRoom employee beanies with the propeller on top! It's an extremely effective and quite comfortable construction. The HD25-1-II Adidas rather unusual 'split-headband' comes from studio applications where a secure fit is critical; it's easily the most stable headphone we've worn during serious head-banging or while pulling our best B-boy dance moves around the office. The mid-sized 'supra-aural' (on-ear) earcups also swivel out of the way on the left ear so you can hear ambient sounds or perform fast-paced mono DJ mixing with one ear. The headphone construction is a high-quality plastic composite material throughout that feels well-built and durable. The earcups are padded with a supple blue pleather-type material and offer respectable ambient noise attenuation. The short detachable 4.5ft single-sided, straight Y-cable eliminates dreaded long-cord tangling when listening on the fly and it comes terminated to a 1/8" inch (3.5mm) mini-plug. A full-size 1/4" adaptor plug is handily included in the HD-25-1-II package. A 2-yr manufacturer's product warranty remains standard with all Sennheiser headphones.

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Rockin', Phenomenal Isolation, Great Paintjob
Cons: Expensive Paintjob
The only bad marks go to the fact that this Adidas model is usually quite a bit pricier than the black model, which is a shame because the electric blue stylings are something to behold.
Highly, highly recommended for mobile use.

Pros: comfortable - good sound and decent, kicking bass.
Cons: plastic frame can seem 'cheap' - better quality bag?
These cans offer some great noise isolation, they are great flat sounding headphones that when pushed with an equaliser - get you some great results (depending on what you are after)
My tastes are more into bass heavy production and these haven't disappointed.
Build wise, the plastic feels of a lesser quality than what is used for other Sennheiser headphones but this doesn't mean they seem like they will break easily.
You get replacement, velour pads in the box - as they come fitted with leather pads. In addition to this it comes with a nylon material drawstring bag - handy to carry them in but if you are going to do a carry bag Sennheiser might as well have gone all out with a hard case option especially when paired with ADIDAS
