Applications:
The recently revised Etymotic Ety-BLU2 Bluetooth headset delivers the most high-end single-earpiece (monophonic) sound quality and telecommunication clarity heard in the category. Both for talking and listening, the Ety-BLU2 provides an amazing minus -30dB signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) advantage that remains unmatched by any other Bluetooth headset. When compared to common 'at-ear', non-sealing Bluetooth headsets, their inferior digital signal processing designs can never muster the level of audio detail intelligibility and clean acoustic performance found in the Ety-BLU2. Especially in big crowds and on busy city streets where voices & traffic sounds can often mingle and obscure speech frequencies, the off-axis noise rejection of the Ety BLU2 mic & earpiece system remains extremely impressive at delivering crystal-clear telephony. Multi-function button on the BLU2 earpiece conveniently handles both volume control and call management. Boom microphone has handy 'flex' capacity and can be routed inconspicuously as needed.
The Etymotic Ety-BLU2 comes with a superb array of variously sized eartips for the earpiece -- definitely try them all for your very best in-ear fit and noise-blocking / isolation ability. The package also contains a detachable earloop hook for active listeners desiring comfortable, stable earpiece wearing ergonomics. As a very cool extra, optional audiologist-customized in-ear molds for are easily available via Etymotic after Ety-BLU2 purchase; any customer purchasing an Etymotic product can register their product at Etymotic.com. After registering, you can print a voucher from the Etymotic site, then schedule an appointment with an audiologist in the Etymotic network (which can be located through the Etymotic website by entering your zip code). You'll then take the voucher to the audiologist appointment, the audiologist will take impressions of your ears and send the impressions -- along with the voucher -- to the Ety labs. Customer pays nothing to the audiologist; the lab will contact you for credit card payment (for $100 -- a great deal!); the lab then produces the molds and ships them to the customer with the lab compensating the audiologist.

Pros: Sound
Cons: Button control
My primary use is in an office setting with a Plantronics Calisto phone. My office has a tall ceiling and hardwood floors, so echos are a real problem. The EtyBlu2 was one of the only earphones to stifle the echo (the other was the Plantronics Voyager Pro, but that had fit problems due to the arms of my eyeglasses).
I don't wear it constantly, but when I have a call, I can insert it quickly in my ear. I'm using a silicone tri-flange. I didn't like the tri-flange with my Ety 4s (preferring a Comply tip) but they work well here. For longer calls, the metal wire that fits over your ear is needed, otherwise the unit tends to start slipping down below the mouth.
As noted, ingoing and outgoing sound is great. The isolation provided helps greatly with the quality of the incoming calls. Receiving callers didn't know I was on a bluetooth phone. While the microphone arm is removable, I only used it with the arm on.
On the downside (maybe) is just the whole design of the EtyBlu. If you aren't used to sticking things in your ears, and don't want to, this will be a huge drawback. I'm used to it through nearly ten years of using other Etymotic products and IEMs in general.
Another drawback is the button control. I don't use the button control at all but I imagine it would become annoying. The button is a hard press, which I suppose is good to prevent accidental switching. However, that means you need to press the button hard when the unit is in your ear, further driving the tip deeper in your ear, which will probably be uncomfortable.
Final drawback - it doesn't play music! Why didn't Etymotic, a music IEM manufacturer not include a playback feature? I likely wouldn't listen to music but would listen to podcasts, which are general mono anyways.
Otherwise it pairs well with devices. The construction is solid. Battery life is OK, maybe six hours, but recharges quickly.
