What's In The Box:

  • Sennheiser owner's warranty statement

The entry way to Sennheiser's amazing and affordable line of 'HD400' series headphones, the Sennheiser HD419 has some wonderfully rugged looks matching its tough-built design and great no-nonsense sonic performance. The HD419 eschews the overworked cosmetics of "fashion" headphones to focus on acoustic sensibility and musical comprehension as its highest goals without any other extraneous -- albeit colorful -- distractions getting in the way of your listening experience. Full-size sealed-back earcups isolate well against environmental noise and allow you to get deep into the music without turning up the volume to overcome ambient noise, a nice thing to do for your long-term hearing safety. The Sennheiser HD419 bass response is definitely alive and kicking but avoids the dreaded 'one-note' bloat that so often passes as "great bass response" from less adroit headphone makers. If we had a quibble, we would add a bit more hair on the uppermost treble extension but that may almost be considered a red herring unless you listen exclusively to high-resolution uncompressed music. With iTunes store-bought music at 256k, the acoustic performance remains robust and engaging without highlighting compression artifacts or other subtle flaws lurking in most mp3 audio files.

The full-size Sennheiser HD419 headphones have circumaural earcups that normally fit completely around the ear on most wearers and deliver a secure, correct fit without undue headband clamping force ruining your listening experience. The short cable is designed for mobile/portable applications and is a non-detachable, 'single-sided' design (extra-nice for eliminating dreaded cord tangling!) extends from the left earcup and runs about 4.5ft to a 3.5mm (1/8") 'mini' plug termination. Leatherette earpad cushions are both durable and comfortable for extended jam sessions. They can also be easily replaced when the pads eventually wear out. NO full-size 1/4" jack stereo adapter is included in the package, so you'll need to pick one up if plugging the HD419 into full-size stereo 1/4" connections. The excellent 2-year manufacturer's warranty remains free with your HeadRoom '100% authorized dealer' purchase receipt.
