Pricey but nice quality
Posted by SteveD from Alexandria,VA on 2011-12-27

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: excellent Bluetooth,very comfortable
Cons: price, low volume with i-phone

I was very nervous when I made the purchase since I own a $50 pair of Sony BT headphones that work very well for the cheap price. I wanted something with better audio quality and could wear for hours without discomfort. They do those things very well and the build quality is what I would have expected for that high price. I own several Bose corded headphones and the Sennheiser is superior in sound quality. They sound superb with the Headroom portable amp With Noise Guard on the volume becomes a bit muted which is annoying since I like my rock music loud! Without Noise Guard turned on, the volume increases and sound is fuller. It's a tough choice considering the price but I'm keeping them since they are so comfortable and the BT works very well.

Poor sound and minimal isolation
Posted by Shameless Gear Head from Unity, ME on 2011-10-12

Recommend Product: No
Pros: SRS, maybe, but hard to tell
Cons: Almost everything else.

This purchase was a bad call. I needed a full size headphone that had good noise isolation, talk through access to my iPhone, low profile for packing, and ability to selectively listen to ambient sounds, which is useful, say, when the plane is about the crash and you need to follow directions. This headphone has everything and it is built by Sennheiser to boot. Can't go wrong, right?

Sadly, this was a waste of $500. The sound quality is atrocious. It was so bad that after my first air trip, simply put them back in the bag never to use again. To be sure, my high end phones are the T1 and my in-ear is the IE-8, and so perhaps I am harsh critic. Even allowing for this, these cans suck. To my ear, my Koss Porta Pro sounds better. The IE-8 has about the same level of sound isolation.
