Applications:
One of the few full-size Bluetooth wireless headphones available, the Sennheiser PX 360 BT offers around-the-ear coverage and wire-free listening convenience wrapped in a rather tough all-black exterior that belies the array of brilliant features within. Sure, the PX 360 BT is ready to pair up wirelessly to iPod, Droid, laptop and iPad sources without muss or fuss, but you can also use the PX 360 BT in standard 'wired' mode with the provided (detachable) headphone cable for those long-travel instances where the rechargeable batteries run out of juice. The wired sound is perhaps slightly ahead of the already-decent Bluetooth A2DP 2.1 audio scheme employed by the PX 360 BT, but the overall audible sound quality differences between wired and wireless operation are not all that huge to our ears. The SRS WOW HD feature provides touch-button ''surround sound'' enhancement best with movies and gaming. However, we think it actually degrades the tone most well-recorded stereo music and adds a confusing hollowness to the sound -- so we turn it off for most of our HeadRoom listening. Portable use is aided by the tidy folding headband design and compact storage dimensions.
Although technically not an 'active' noise-cancelling design, the Sennheiser PX 360 BT total around-the-ear cushion coverage offers pretty good listening privacy and environmental isolation, so these are quite usable on your next long airplane trip or train journey. The luxe deep padding on both headband and earpads is quite comfortable and contributes mightily to rating these amongst the most comfy travel/portable headphones in the Sennheiser stables; the deep ear cushion padding also helps shut out some of the loud ambient noise around you. The nice 2-year manufacturer's warranty remains free with your HeadRoom 'authorized dealer' purchase receipt.
