Shure's "G" series of ear canal headphones are ostensibly geared for portable gaming applications like the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP), Nintendo GameBoy Advanced SP or similar high-tech mobile entertainment & gaming devices blanketing our interactive world. However, they are nearly identical to the other Shure E3 ear canal headphone models and will certainly work equally well from just about any portable audio source. The mid-priced E3-G model is constructed with Shure's proprietary WideBand microdriver technology that delivers extended-range audio with precision highs while blocking out pesky external ambient noise that could distract from your dueling gamesmanship. The E3-Gs have solid bass response and a smooth mid-range balance but the upper-frequency dynamics may certainly be a tad rolled-off for picky listeners. But at this nice price, the E3 are likely the best ECH out there. Totally hip-looking and very lightweight, the E3-G's black cord and glossy black drivers match up well with the PSP's cool dark color scheme. These monitors would be a regal upgrade to the lowly 'earbuds' that are supplied with most portable gamers, iPods, Mp3 players, laptop computers, and other portable sound devices.
Their superb sensitivity and low impedance rating of 26 ohms make the E3-G a great companion to any portable gamer or audio device. The E3-G includes an excellent selection of variously-sized interchangeable eartip sleeves allowing for a comfortable, personalized fit. The approximately 4.5ft long E3-G cord is terminated with a gold-plated stereo 1/8" [3.5mm] mini-plug and a nifty zippered carrying/travel/storage pouch is also included. The Shure two-year parts & labor warranty remains standard with their entire ear canal headphone (ECH) product line.
