Tight punchy bass and great mids are not all that easy to find in ear canal headphones (ECH) but Shure managed to get it just about right with the E4C.
Tight punchy bass and great mids are not all that easy to find in ear canal headphones (ECH) but Shure managed to get it just about right with the E4C. If we wanted to whine, we’d say that these cans could have used a tad more of the highest highs, but we don’t want to be known as whiners, so we'll say that these are very well-behaved earphones without any glare or treble grain, making for a tremendously satisfying ear canal headphone listening experience. Rockers of all flavors will hammer along with their punchy richness and acoustic music lovers will dig their solid midrange... Nicely well-balanced bass response too... Your sonic headspace will deeply appreciate the smooth, accurate sound of the Shure E4C in-ear headphones!
The first thing we noticed about these earphones is they are terrific looking, certainly amongst the schwingingest earphones we’ve seen. The build quality and ergonomics are really great, too. They come with a wide selection of differently sized foam and silicon-flange eartips; simply find the tips that work best for your ear canal size & geometry, then give us a call and order up a handful...Remember that the tighter the eartips fit inside the ear canal, the higher the degree of isolation/noise-blocking and the better the overall sound quality too! The approximately 5-foot long cord on the Shure E4C has a 90 degree /right angle 1/8" mini-plug at one end and a smoothly-finished symmetrical “Y” cord going up to the two earpieces. The Shure E4 earphones are designed to be worn with the cords looping over the top of your ears and the slider on the “Y” snugging things up at the back of the neck. A full-size 1/4" plug adapter, an in-line attenuator for padding down very loud or noisy high-output audio sources, and a nifty hard-sided clam-shell carrying /travel /storage case are included in all Shure E4 model earphones packages. A Shure two-year product warranty remains standard on all Shure ear canal headphone products. Check out our "Accessories" webpage under HeadPhone Parts/ SHURE for additional eartip sleeve selections!
