Shure E4C Black
MSRP $299.00
Tight-sounding punchy bass and great mid-range clarity are not easy finds in ear canal headphones (ECH) but Shure managed to get it just about right with the various E4 models. If we wanted to whine, we’d say that these cans could have perhaps used a tad more extension of the highest highs, but we don’t really want to be whiners, so we'll say these are quite well-behaved earphones without any sonic glare or treble grain, making for a tremendously satisfying ear canal headphone listening experience. Rockers of all flavors will jam along with their punchy richness while acoustic music lovers will dig their solid, well-detailed, and honest midrange. Nicely well-balanced bass response too... No doubt, your sonic headspace will deeply appreciate the smooth, dynamic audio of any of the Shure E4 earphone models!
The first thing we noticed about these cans is they are terrific looking, certainly amongst the schwingingest earphones we’ve seen. The build quality and ergonomics are great, too. They come with a wide variety of foam & silicon-flange eartip sizes; simply find the ones that work for you, then give us a call and order up a handful... Remember that the better (tighter) the fit, the higher the degree of isolation/noise-blocking provided by any ear canal headphone and, also, the better the bass response! The approximately 5-foot long E4 cord has a 90-degree right angle 1/8" [3.5mm] mini-plug at one end and a smoothly finished symmetrical “Y” cord going to the two earpieces. The earphones are designed to be worn with the cords looping over the top of your ears with a slider adjuster on the “Y” snugging things up at the back of the neck. A full-size 1/4" plug adapter, in-line attenuator for padding down very loud or noisy high-output sources, and a nifty hard-sided clam-shell carrying /travel/ storage case are included in all Shure E4 model earphone packages. The Shure ear canal headphones all maintain a nice 2-year parts & labor manufacturer's warranty.
