The toughest audio products to design are those where there is a significant need to keep costs low; at some point you have to accept and carefully deal with flaws in performance and compromised build quality. Well, Shure engineers have deftly handled the demands of lower-cost product engineering to the point of producing a modestly priced pair of in ear headphones that are virtually free of any obvious faults whatsoever given their price point. We're just astonished by the price vs performance ratio of these excellent pair of in ear headphones, and highly recommend them to folks looking for a solid upgrade to their portable listening experience without suffering a major billfold blow-out.
The SE-210 have a single balanced armature design and can be ordered in black or white color schemes. They sport a highly efficient 26-ohm impedance for easy pairing with all portable audio players like iPods & laptop computers. The well-stocked SE210 fit kit includes three sizes (s/m/l) apiece of the silicon-flex and the squishy-foam eartips so you'll get six pairs of tips in all, a real nice plus for earphones at this entry-level price point. As always, the correct in-ear fit is critical for best earphone sound and wearing comfort. Also included in the fit kit is a 3ft detachable cable extension which can provide about a 4.5ft total cable length for the SE210. A Shure earphone travel/storage case for your road tripping is nicely provided in the box. All SE ear canal headphones carry an excellent 2-year product warranty which Shure stands behind 100%. Pros: Comfort, good isolation, balanced, good construction
Cons: a bit $$ for portable listening

I'm happy with these. My goal was to find earbuds for a long commute by rail and subway. Sound isolation is important to me as was finding something comfortable that I could wear for 1-2 hours. I had older Shure's until a recent encounter with the washing machine--time for upgrade and replacement.
The current SE models are far superior in comfort. The foam plugs that come with are great. I also ordered the triple flange sleeves but decided not to use them. I can wear these for long times with no physical discomfort.
The newer styling is trim and discreet. I'm not one for flash. I wear the cord over the ear and find these unobtrusive. The foam plugs get a little dusty with ear gunk, more so than the other plugs and the earlier foam. I think this is because it's a softer more comfy foam. An aesthetic trade-off there. The plugs attach well now, much easier and more sturdy.
Nice long cord. I'm very tall and not all cords reach from my head to my pocket where the iPod rests. It has a break away connection that I'm ambivalent about. It adds a bit of bulk to the cord that I could do without. I would have appreciated a one piece option. All materials are decent quality though.
Sound is good. "Well behaved" is a good description. I listen to Alt Rock, Indie Rock, Jazz, Classical. I don't listen to bass heavy music much. These fit my tastes very well. There are no obvious weaknesses. They aren't as proficient and dynamic as my Senn HD580, but I would never expect them to be. They are very good for earbuds.
Thought a more reasonable price would be about $120.00, but I think they should be on any serious listeners list of top buds to check out.

Pros: Amazing sound; like a direct connection to your brain; easy to carry
Cons: Requires patience and fiddling to find a good fit

These are really amazing. They are so much better than any sound canceling system on a plane. If you've never used an in-ear headphone before you'll be amazed at what you can hear in your music that was always there but you never noticed.
If you get them, have patience with the fitting process. It takes time to figure out what works in your ears.
Of course, some folks just hate to have stuff in their ears at all. And so, these are not for them.
