Applications:
Ask your friendly neighborhood headphone freak, musician, producer or recordist about the Sony MDR 7505 and you'll likely get wide-eyed raves about its stellar build quality and clear sound. The round but slim-profile earpad design allows for various listening positions, providing consistent audio quality for multiple headphone users, a nice thing for studio applications or for having one headphone that can fit multiple family members. The principal difference between the MDR-7506 and this MDR-7505 model boils down to the earpad sizing with the 7505 having slightly smaller, more circular earpad cushion dimensions overall. The MDR-7505's quite large but extremely lightweight 40mm audio drivers in tandem with proprietary Sony-engineered neodymium magnets reproduce powerful but controlled (not boomy!) bass along with clear treble extension over the entire audible frequency spectrum. It's a great choice either for superb personal portable listening to your iPod or for real professional audio monitoring tasks -- and that's not a common attribute for most other heaphones found anywhere near this reachable price.
Low 40 Ohm impedance mates well with most portable player devices for ideal personal listening. No amp required, but audio lovers can expect a significantly fuller tone and a more cleanly detailed, dynamic musical presentation when employing a quality head-amp with the MDR-7505. The Sony MDR-7505 come in a standard black with the classic Sony color flashing evident on the outside of the earcups. A handy Sony travel bag is provided in the packaging. The stereo plug is a 3.5mm (1/8") connection suitable for easy use with iPods, iPads, and laptop computers. Total cord length is approximately 8ft.
