Applications:

Ultimate Ears makes a grand return to HeadRoom with one of the most awesome in-ear headphone values we've layed our ears upon, the UE700 dual driver in-ear monitors. Sporting just about the tiniest earpiece design offered by any dual driver design on the market, the Ultimate Ears UE700 dimensions will easily fit most ears -- even ones with smaller-than-average ear canals -- without comfort issues. An extremely good array of seven eartip pairs in five sizes and two material types is provided by Ultimate Ears within the UE700 package; one of those tip pairs should be perfect for 98% of listeners out there. Sonically, the musical definition and detail accuracy of the UE700 was outstanding with a deep-toned, full bass response (courtesy of the dedicated low-end driver) supporting airy extended highs and well-focused, fully developed vocal midranges. Compared to the next dual driver in-ear we carry at about twice the price, the UE700 held its ground and delivered an extremely engaging, detailed sound that nearly rivaled its significantly more expensive competition. Although not required, the 40-Ohm UE700 mated beautifully with a headphone amp, increasing the instrumental heft and body of the music while also clarifying recording nuances and timbral transparency. The Ultimate Ears UE700 are a heck of a deal in 'audiophile-quality' in-ears and earn our highest HeadRoom recommendation!

The Ultimate Ears UE700 headphone comes from a long line of high-quality in-ear designs dating back to the pioneering UE 'Super.Fi' models back in the early 2000s. Now completely updated by Logitech with all the latest technological in-ear monitor advancements like weightless, rapid-response neodymium driver arrays and extra-tough Kevlar cord reinforcement, the build construction of the UE 700 appears solidly bomb-proof to withstand constant mobile use and non-stop portable listening out & about. The UE700 package includes seven pairs of proprietary eartip sets in both silicone and foam materials, which is amongst the best selection of 'universal fit' ear sleeves offered by any in-ear manufacturer and greatly assists achieving that all-important personalized fit. Remember, the free 1-year free manufacturer's repair-or-replace service warranty remains in place only with your HeadRoom authorized 'Logitech/UE dealer' purchase receipt.

Disappointed
Posted by Tailboarder from Duluth, MN on 2012-11-24

Recommend Product: No
Pros: Good fit; quality product
Cons: Ear tips fall off; drivers distort; poor sound

This is my second set of Ultimate Ears IEMs; the super.fi 5s that I used and abused for years were ten times the headphone. My biggest gripe is that the ear tips fall off when not in use and when I pull the earphone out of my ear the ear tip stays in. Beyond that the sound quality is better than most of what you will find at Walmart but doesn't compare to others in this price range. They are super comfortable and look great. The durability of the product is great but I am rating it low based on design and again, the ear tip's ability to stay on the body of the IEM. Some have rated the durability low based on the gauge of the wire, this is not a true representation of the durability based on the kevlar reinforcement in the wire. Thoroughly disappointed in this purchase.

Excellent sound
Posted by Clearmind from American in Taiwan on 2012-11-08

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Nicely balance; detailed yet powerful
Cons: Tiny earpieces; treble occasionally edgy

These are naturally balanced headphones that do extremely well at their price point. The trick is to get a good seal with these tiny things by trying out different ear tips, but once you do, the combination of deep, controlled bass, detailed and extended highs, and nice mids makes them work for all genres. (If the stock tips don't work, try the Shure "olive" tips with the larger openings; they work better for me.) The only slight drawback to the overall good sound is the highs, which occasionally can be just a bit raspy. But the much more expensive Shure 535s have the same problem--to an even greater degree--and I think with the right equipment and a good fit in your ear, these will actually perform just as well overall. I use the 700s with a Fostex HP-P1 and Fiio E17 (the E17 amp has slightly cleaner highs than the Fostex, plus tone controls which help bring out the bass of the 700s). I get good sound with that combination. These 700s have a slight advantage over the UE600s by being just slightly better balanced and cleaner, which allows them to work better over a wider range of genres and recordings.

Recommend Product: No
Pros: Great Sound
Cons: Dont stay in ear, Fragile cord

I couldn't help but have a little buyers remorse after purchasing these and trying out the product. The sound don't get me wrong is very good for the price. Problems arise however as soon as you're moving around, walking, at the gym or anything like that. The headphones rely on a perfect seal inside the ear to provide quality sound as soon as this seal is broken and the headphone even slightly slips the sound goes out the window. Tried all the ear bud sizes which makes me think the company new about this problem however this does not repair the issue at all. Buy them if you intend to never move while they're in otherwise I'd look for something more stable in ear.
