The Ultrasone DJ1Pro headphones are geared for professional DJ applications where their sealed-back construction helps to attenuate the distracting ambient noise coming from all those dance-crazed partiers. The accentuated upper frequencies of the DJ1Pro may prove especially beneficial to DJs seeking to keep on top of of hi-hat & cymbal cues or track their scratch/mixing synchronicity while working multiple turntables or mixing sources. Their full bass response helps to approximate the deep bass of dance music or hip-hop production styles. The mid-range response is just slightly recessed which gives the overall presentation a hint of discontinuity that serves to emphasize the lower & upper parts of the sound spectrum. The seal from external sounds is quite respectable on the DJ1Pro making these cans effectively isolating, good-quality audio performers and a solid choice for working club/dance DJs or funky bedroom beat-makers.
An extra nice feature of the DJ1Pro is the choice of interchangeable cables that are available with the package. A 10-foot coiled cord featuring a nifty in-line volume control with INDEPENDENT left/right adjustment and a stereo/mono switch is a major plus for DJs dialing in headphone volume on the fly or for listening to the mono mix with one ear. That same feature could prove useful for listeners who suffer some hearing loss in one ear. A 10-foot straight cord is also enclosed along with an extra pair of plush speed-switch earpads. The de rigeur 1/4" to 1/8" plug adapter is included along with a handy-dandy storage/carry bag for good measure.
