The Balanced Ultra Desktop Amp will drive your balanced or unbalanced headphones using a pair of our top-performing 'Max' electronics modules featuring Burr-Brown OPA627 gain stages and Diamond Buffer discrete output stage, but now the internal signal paths are shorter and all controls are handily located on the front panel. The HeadRoom BUDA amp will accept both balanced and unbalanced audio inputs, and will drive one pair of balanced headphones or two pairs of standard unbalanced cans using the front panel Neutrik combo-jack connectors.
This HeadRoom Ultra DAC is a completely new digital-to-analog converter for HeadRoom and incorporates the amazing ESS Technologies ES9008 Sabre DAC. We could go on & on about the intensive audio engineering research that ESS did in this digital-to-analog converter and the numerous patented and/or novel improvements it contains. We could say things like complete 100% jitter reduction or DSP oversampling, up-sampling and filtering, but we'll leave that for those who want to read the ESS technical manual and part specification sheets. We'll just simply say this is one of the cleanest, most liquid, and most smoothly musical DACs you'll ever hear and let you decide for yourself!
POWER SUPPLY: The HeadRoom Ultra Balanced Desktop Stack package DAC includes two (2) international-use 'all-voltage' Astrodyne Power Supplies. as part of this package.
However, our superb high-current HeadRoom DPS Power Supply featuring six discretely regulated AC output connections aboard -- enough for all your HeadRoom gear! -- is VERY highly recommended for fully maximized audio performance and quietest background noise floor.
