Sorry! Actually sound is pretty bad!

Pros: good build, price
Cons: sound
this is the 4th set i bought after receiving high star results from the HeadRoom reviewers. I 've had the Grado R60, sennheiser px 100 1st gen, Etymoptic MC5, Koss PortaPro which all have been perfect in terms of sound very well as described. Note this one though! I wanted to buy my Mom some entry level headphones with resonable sound quality and price. I thought let's try them before i give it to her just out of pure curiosity of a modest audiophile. Now I must admit the sound may seem 'clear' for classic music lovers but anything else would just sound dull, with no bass as if you were listening good headphones through your winter cap.. i am a bit reluctant to give them to her now. And let me be streight - i am not a passionate audiophile but i know what should i expect from a good reviewer, good headphone brand and resonable price. I had no problems paying the extra $20-30 to get a better headphones but i thought "they gave it a full 5 star rating-sound can't be bad" but the truth is- it is pretty bad! You can't just give 5 stars because of the low price, after all this website is for showing the headphones with the best sound quality right!? or it is a website that shows us the cheapest headphones?? well we all know the prices, they are written at the products. Price is an undeniable factor over $100. You CANNOT give 4.5 or 5 stars to a product that sounds 10 times worse than a 2 times more expensive counterpart!

Pros: Amazing value, Feel rugged, Great sound, Fairly comfortable
Cons: Slightly annoying cable
I'm about 90% sure the FR measurement went wrong somewhare cause the headphones sound great the way they are and horrible when I equalize them to match the response of the Beyer T1 or Audeze LCD 2. If anything, they are slightly dark/warm/treble shy rather than band limited and thin (as the graph suggests). To my ears they extend down to at least 40 Hz if not lower, which I think is enough (the lowest note on a bass is about 40 Hz, even if there are lower notes we rely on the harmonics to hear them anyway), and up to the limits of hearing. Highly recommended.

Best entry-level headphones in the market.

Pros: Balance, CLEARNESS, comfort, noise cancelling.
Cons: Durability, bad wiring, flat bass for those who like more punch.
All reviews are true. The Sennheiser HD 201 is the best choice when we talk about a cheap but responsive set of headphones. We have Sennheiser's signature sound clearness with great comfort (I used to spend 2-3 hours wearing it without any unpleasant, uncomfortable feeling or heat) and a very reasonable, fair price.
The HD 201 delivers a great, balanced musical experience. If you compare it with any other low-cost headphones, the difference is really abyssal. Bassheads may be a little disappointed. I mean, the lows are there, but they aren´t overexposed like in a Monster Beats or Skullcandy. But what you lose in bass you get in clearness.
I own my HD 201 for about 3 years, so I can finally say what are its cons. The earpads have short durability, they start to wear out rapidly, and if you're a sweaty person it tends to get worse, the leatherette covering starts to peel off after some months of use. And we have a problem with the cabling, too. They're not one-sided and easily replaceable like the more expensive Sennheisers, so you're gonna have a bit of discomfort with the two cables scrambling around your neck, and with that constant scrambling they will start to break soon because they're so thin, you have to be careful with them. Some people complain about the cable's length (it's a big one!), but to me it wasn't such a problem.
So, have this in mind when buying them. They won't last a great amount of time, but rest assured you'll love every minute using them while it works.

Pros: cheap as chips, comfortable, neat, balanced sound
Cons: bass missing, clarity missing
Could it be that these only work well with an amplifier? Difficult for me to say as I don't have them any more. My impression was that within the frequency range of speech or acoustic music they are very good but on tracks with deep bass you notice these cans just don't deliver that bass AT ALL.
So, no bass. And also other 'phones have better clarity. But most of the time you don't miss what you don't hear and what these headphones do play they play in a remarkably balanced and natural way, so unless you're comparing them to something better, they're really fine. "Patrons in a museum," etc. as suggested above, yes, absolutely. I'd definitely buy 15 if i needed to kit out a language lab or something. Perfect for that. But for enjoying music they don't cut it.

Pros: Insane sound quality, comfortable, cheap
Cons: Long cord, slightly bulkier than I would like
I typically do not go for over-the-ear phones; I'm more of an IEM guy. I own a pair of Etymotic Mc5s, and Maximo iMetal M590s. I originally saw these Sennheisers on sale at a local music shop for $20. I turned them down since I don't like the large, awkward size. My friend bought these for me as a gift, and honestly, I haven't touched my Etys since. These headphones sound simply amazing. I would gladly pay double their price for this quality. The only things I don't like is the awkward over-the-ear style and the incredibly long cord,

Pros: Comfort, and Sound... WOW! Astonished
Cons: Need a little more power than my MP3 player
Picture a bunch of Sennheiser engineers sitting around and laughing about what they could do if all they cared about was making a comfortable set of headphones, under $30, that sounded like genuine Sennheisers. Something that would could do the brand justice and attract people on a tight budget.
How else could headphones sound THIS good, for about 25 bucks, have been made?
They are amazing. I bought them to play video games after my son is asleep. They sounded much better than what I had been using. Then it happend; one day I plugged them into my laptop...and listened to Also Sprach Zarathustra (Philips recording of John Williams conducting the Boston Pops) It was open and warm, rock solid mids, balanced warm bass, and razor-sharp highs. I was stunned! Want to hear detail? The sound of orchestra members turning pages, even the tiny little noises of flute or clarinet keys and pads. Brass? Strings? Overtones and harmonics... for under 30 bucks? They are not the HD800s. But I think these are THE bargain headphones... or a "gateway drug" into the land of Sennheiser!

Pros: Clear highs
Cons: Lack of bass response, poor fit, low sensitivity
I disagree with what HeadRoom is suggesting with their review here. This headphone sounds like $25. Articulation is better than what you'd find in a no-name $10 chinese headset, but they sound very thin, offering almost nothing on the bass end. And as every review is mentioning here, sensitivity is low and you can't get very far on an iPod without completely cranking it, leading to a hissing feel in such a thin headphone. I also don't find the fit to be very good at all.
Sure, you won't find anything much better for $25. But the options open up so significantly at $50 that I regret buying these.

Pros: Exceptional transparancy and strong sound stage presence
Cons: reduced bass response, low sensitivity
For my review I compared these head to head with Grado SR60i's which cost twice as much.
I won't pro/con these because the only drawbacks are -5db below 120hz, and low sensitivity. They are otherwise perfect. Regarding these drawbacks, the bass is easy enough to fix with a little EQ and sounds superb once eq corrected, and the sensitivity is enough to listen to with an Ipod and be happy but you will never be able to "rock out" with it.
On to the pros. An exceptional sound stage. Each instrument occupies a point in space and is clearly defined. For closed cans that is amazing. Even better than the Grados. The character is very neutral without a lot of coloration and exceptional clarity. They really come alive with a stronger source like a headphone amp or a hifi stereo. I use them on an Xfi soundcard and they are loud enough at full volume for me to be happy (I value my hearing).
I applied some EQ correction to boost low frequencies by about 5db and I attempted to flatten out their frequency response. The results once EQ corrected are phenomenal. They sound perfect, the kind of perfect that will make you cry with joy. Beyond the base observations about clarity and sound fields, they just sound good. These are musical in quality and truly a joy to listen to. Any shortcomings audio wise are not that apparent and enhance rather than distract from the sound.
I am going to buy 2 more pair so I have enough for the rest of my life if they should ever stop making them.

Pros: Good audio quality
Cons: thin cord
I own the UE SuperFi 5 Pro in ears phones and I wanted an over the ear headphone because they are simply easier to deal with when you have to stop listening to music and pay attention to your wife. I was surprised by how light these cans are which is not a bad thing in the long run if you can avoid judging them by how un-substantial they feel. The cups are big and they cover my ears very nicely. The band does not apply too much pressure like my Sony's and the padding is more than adequate for long listening sessions. In fact, I would like to tighten them up a bit more for my skull since it improves the bass. These are big and tacky looking in a classy way and I have really come to like the huge phone look. Build quality and finish is first rate. The cord is thin and looks fragile so I am careful not to accidentally damage it. The cord is also long and this is good when I listen to my home CD player, but when I listen to my Sony portable player, I have to wind the cord up and hold it together with velcro. The audio quality is nothing short of stunning for the price paid. The bass is not huge, but it is not disappointing either. The clarity and sound stage are really good and enjoyable for long periods of time. They have really good clarity and fast transient response. They are not as efficient as in ear phones, so I max out the volume on my Sony player. Like my UE SuperFi 5Pros, they show that my iPod is a better movie player than a quality music device and for music I prefer my Sony NWZ-S545 with these Sennheiser (or UE) phones. Voices are really good on these too. These are really good phones and the price makes them a rock solid value. I compared them to a pair of $30 Sony MDR-V150 earpad phones I bought at the airport when I forgot the UE's and after listening to the Sennheisers, I simply will not look back at the Sonys (thanks for the good times Sony headphones); there is no comparison. Some say get a pair for the kids or office, but I say get a pair for yourself and enjoy. I hesitated buying these for the longest time because I just didn't believe that the least expensive Sennheisers would be much of an improvement over what I already had, but I was so wrong and I could have been enjoying these much sooner If only I could believe that a $30 headphone could sound this good.

Pros: the price, nice sound quality and they are not ugly also
Cons: huge cable
sounds realy clear. well dettailed sound. some people says that it has a weak bass, i disagree. it is not a powrfull bass yeah, but is a nice bass for those who want to realy lissen the music and not a "boom boom" sound over the music. i prefer to lissen eveything like it realy is and this headphones are realy great for it. the hd201 are comfortable, but i believe after some hours listening with it, it can feel a litle uncomfortable not much. the cable is too long 3 metters a clip as the one in the hd202 would be a plus, but no one is perfect right?
they have a perfect price/quality relation
i would take a risk and say that this headphones are the best you can do to cost only about 30$

Pros:
Cons:
This is a great little inexpensive headphone -- the best of the "cheap" ones I have tried. It has a small form, is comfortable and secure fitting, and has very good sound for the money. If you are trying to keep your costs down as low as possible and still get a great-sounding headphone from a major manufacturer, this is the one to get in my opinion. Very balanced sound. If you are looking for big bass, however, I suggest you try the HD 202, also from Sennheiser. Both headphones have long cords, which cut into their utility as portables.

Pros: Surpriszingly good sound for the price, Good isolation. Won't play overly loud.
Cons: A little sweaty to wear for long sessions!
I bought these for my son for his iPod and for listening to streaming music from Naxosmusiclibrary.com for a music appreciation class he is taking. I was quite surprized at how good they sounded for the price. most cheap sealed phones I've tried in the past were fairly colored in sound, muffled in detail, and generally unpleasant to listen to. These are fairly mellow sounding, with good, though not ultimately too powerful, bass. They offer reasonable detail, and highs extended enuogh to balance the sound quite well. Overall, these are a big improvement over the ear buds that came with the iPod, and with the reasonably good isolation, much more usable in a wider variety of locations.
When compared to the much more expensive Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro that I usually use, the HD 201 does understandibly sound less detailed, less powerful, less dynamic and a more colored. However, considering the price difference that is to be expected. Also, The Beyers need a headphone amp (I use a Total Bithead) where the HD201 can be driven straight from the iPod or notebook. Using these with the Total Bithead did offer enough of an improvement to make getting an amp a reasonable and worthwhile option.
One nice thing is that, though will will play plenty loud, they won't go as loud as some other headphones, lessening the chance of overdoing the volume and damamging your ears.
Overall, I think these are an excellent choice for someone looking for an inexpensive traditional sealed headphone

Pros: comfortable (for me), quiets down outside noise very well, dont sound to bad either
Cons: For the price: the rubberized cord feels cheap and tangles easily.
Excellent value! They really surprised me with how well they block outside noise, with even minimal volume hearing people talk next to you is near impossible. Sound quality is on par, if not better, than the price point it is being sold at. Overall I would say a natural sound but with surprisingly responsive low end. They are also very comfortable to wear and my ears are actually fully enclosed comfortably, something I did not expect. If you are looking for an enclosed over the ear headphone on a budget definitely consider these!

Pros: Good sound suited for Classic music
Cons: Rock music and bass heavy music like electronica sounds bad on this
These are good if you like classic music due to their neutral sound , but the bass is barely there so rock, electronica , house , sound very lifeless with these headphones , they are very comfortable but the cord is very long so take this in mind if you plan to use them on the streets.
overall i give them a 8.5 because of their good sound taking into consideration that they are only 30 bucks

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: comfortable, great value, price
Cons: Plastic-y, large, thin cable
Great for a gift, home use, or the office. the HD 201 feel very light on the head and I could wear them for hours without much leakage. The bass response feels light but accurate. Not good for modern music, but is a neutral headphone. They feel durable, but the cord is thin, so be weary. In my opinion, the KSC 75 is better, but it is open and supra-aural, so this is a good alternative.
At this price, you can't go wrong. Just buy them already!
