Great for a while, beginning to die out like all others

Pros: Sound, Fit, stays in place
Cons: Durability, comfort, Volume control
I was excited when I first got these. I thought: Finally, I'll have a pair of headphones that will last. 10 months later, I'm back to the place I've been to many times before, shopping online for a pair of headphones that will last over a year. Don't get me wrong, these were great for a while, but I definitely overlooked some flaws in hopes that these headphones would last forever.
First is the stupidly placed volume control that when removed leaves you with a one foot cord that can only be plugged into an arm strap. When trying to workout with this you have to clip it awkwardly onto the neck of your shirt if you don't want it flopping around.
Second, is the comfort of the earpiece. The yellow rubber around the ears fell off after about two weeks and now I can't wear the headphones for more than a couple hours without my ear throbbing.
Lastly, and most importantly is the quality. After 10 months they have begun shorting out. At this point I will gladly pay hundreds of dollars for headphones with some sort of long term guarantee. For now, I sit and dream of the day when I can own headphones for more than a year without them quitting on me.
Any suggestions of headphones that are more durable are welcome

Pros: Behind head Decent sound
Cons: not sturdy, uncomfortable
I bought these to fit below my climbing helmet for long approaches with large loads (they do this but a little uncomfortable particularly under a hood), I had been running the old PX200 and really loved there sound. For some reason these just don't come close to the sound of the PX200 (sorry no numbers, just subjective feelings). Lets get to my real issue. Look at the Picture of these. See the yellow ear-buds, these have two bands of unglued rubber built in that rotate on them selves and at worst rub off into your ear. I have had to rebuild this rubber bit on the "buds" more and more as they get older. They still work but are only 10 months old. OK enough bad. The sound is "OK" and they do sit behind your neck. Possibly there best function is the controller on the one sided cord. I fell for these, but will get a better sounding headphone that is not intended for sports next time. I think the "sports" category is asking for a downgrade that looks cool.

Best Workout Headphone

Pros: GREAT sound, stays in place, good cabling options
Cons: none
I've tried several different types of headphones for exercising. Here's a quick rundown of the pros and cons of these other headphones in the context of important attributes I need in an exercise headphone:
1. Koss Porta Pro
a. Pros: Good sound, stay in place well
b. Cons: warmer than ear buds, can't be worn with a bike helmet
2. Individual ear loop ear buds
a. Pros: stay in place pretty well, can be used with a bike helmet
b. Cons: Still come loose at times, poor sound
3. Koss KSC 75
a. Pros: Good sound, can be worn with a bike helmet
b. Cons: Flop around a lot when running
4. Plantronics Backbeat 906
a. Pros: No wires
b. Cons: Uncomfortable fit, noise from the neckband rubbing, intermittent bluetooth connection, come loose easily
The PMX 680 meets all the attributes I need and more!
They have GREAT sound; I was astounded when I heard the quality of sound from what I originally thought were glorified earbuds. They compare favorably to my Grado SR 60s in sound quality.
The headphones are surprisingly comfortable; but, at the same time they are tight enough to stay securely in place. Also, the neckband doesn't rub and make noise. And, being neckband headphones, they can be worn with a bike helmet. Also, they don't completely plug your ears so you can hear important outside noises, (like cars or someone yelling at you).
Finally, water resistance, superior materials, nighttime visibility and the options for cable length are all icing on the cake.
Highly recommended!

Run after these!

Pros: Sound, Comfort, Price
Cons: Durability?, Sizing?,
Not a big run, bike, excercise with music kind of guy but these might change that.
When they arrived I started to feel guilty about the purchase and almost returned due to an impulse buy guilt thing.
Boy am I glad I didn't return them.
Right out of the box with no burn in time they just oozed that Sennheiser sound. If you don't know what I'm talking about get some Sennheiser's!
Crisp, clear, dark, warm, everything that I like. Definately a bit boomy for Senns but I'm not comlaining.
I highly recomend the included earbud covers for added comfort. And although these fit me well I imagine some folks might disagree with fit and comfort. The cords are a very usable/practicle length and having two length options is nice.
There was no microphonics apparent in the cable or with excessive amounts of movement while mountain biking.
Overall: For their "intended" use 5 stars. I think these are great buy especially for their intended use. I imagine these will see more use than just exercise as they are super light, comfortable and sounds great un-amped. Hmmm, Travel Rig?
Guilt Be Gone!

Pros: Sound, Fit
Cons: Ear seal
After a few bad experiences with Senn earbud/low-end consumer products, I had stopped looking at them. However, I received these as a present last year, so what the heck.
Pleasant surprise! They sound great while on the go. I use them mainly for trail biking. In a quiet room I found the sound odd, too much bass maybe. But, on the bike, with the wind noises, the sound improved dramatically. I don't know if they designed it with wind noise in mind.
For the past few years I had been using the Yuin PK2. While the sound was good, vocals especially got drowned out by ambient noise. The vocals on the phones comes through remarkably clear.
I've never been much of a fan of the behind the neck design, so I thought I'd try the MX680's to see how they sounded. I liked the design better and I thought the sound would be similar. No. They sound entirely different, and not for the better. The sound was tinny and exemplified a poor earbud. Too bad.

Super value

Pros: Airy, lively sound, great for rock etc.
Cons: Can get boomy on some tracks, treble detail ultimately lacking
These headphones are superb considering what they cost. They sound better than they need to sound for their intended purpose. I use them not only for exercise listening but ultra-portable listening as they simply sound great and meet all expectations of a portable headset.
The sound characteristics are typical sennheiser, laid back, airy, detailed, somewhat dark, capable of handling a wide range of music with surprising ease. They also benefit from amplification, gaining detail and punch to put them at a level beyond the $59.95 they cost on this site, especially considering their form factor and purpose built construction.

Best sport headphone I've heard

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Will never fall off, great sound, light & comfortable for long periods of use
Cons: Treble, not entirely washable like some of Senn's previous sports phones
Sweat or water (maybe curry too), this baby is will handle it all. Whatever you do, it will stay fit in your ears. Plus, the volume control is very handy while carrying out sports activities; easily allowing you to adjust the volume without needing to touch your iPod. Clear and sharp sound, they top the SQ for phones of their category. Build quality is all well and it looks fantastic.
But, with more than 50 hours of breaking-in, I notice that the treble does tend to roll off at the higher notes. And the sound could be a little too sharp/piercing for people who prefer neutral sound. However, this is mainly noticeable only during listening sessions in my quiet room. When used while cycling, the sound actually remains fine for me as it really blends it well with environment noise. All the sharpness/treble issue seem to "temporarily disappear" as you do your workouts outdoor. I've never used earbud-styled headphones for close to a year and maybe I've been too accustomed to the sound of my PX200-II, thus setting expectations for these neckbands a little too high.
And when I mean they'll stay on your ears, they really do. Do whatever you want; rock-climbing, sky diving, somersaults, bike tricks, they will remain snugged onto your ears; that's just how secure they are when you wear them.
Sennheiser and Adidas have done a good job producing this, setting a new benchmark for sports headphones up from their previous PMX 80. If you wanted sports headphones that block out noise, then go for the CX 680, if not, this PMX 680 is the one to get. Single-sided cable and comes with a pouch, so you can seal the phones in it and stash 'em away in your sports bag in no time.
Note however that this is not washable like some of the previous 70s and 80s sports headphone series, but it should withstand a decent amount of water. Like I've worn in these while cycling in heavy torrential rain, and the only thing damaged by water was my iPod and not the headphones.
Highly recommended for those wanting your tunes during heavy duty outdoor activities.
