Klipsch M40 Mode Product Reviews

The Klipsch M40 Mode headphones are full-size cans sporting newly designed 'dual driver' transducers featuring discrete tweeter/woofer crossovers with a 40mm low + mid driver buttressing a 15mm tweeter. The plush sealed-back earcups are fully circumaural to cover the entire earlobe and remain extremely comfortable even during extra-long flights or endless commuting. New Klipsch state-of-the-art 'active' (battery powered) noise cancelling operates for up to 45hrs on a single charge and the M40 remains operable for audio even without batteries!

Sadly, disappointed

Pros: Good build. Solid feel.
Cons: Disappointing sound quality.

I'm a huge fan of Klipsch and purchased these with high expectations. With the dual drivers, I expected these to have exceptional highs but I was disappointed to find how lacking they were. They were very bass heavy and sounded rather dull. I tried using them with amps and special eq's and couldn't get them to sound as good as I had envisioned.

I still love Klipsch, but these were just not what I was expecting.

Sound great - if you have a small head...

Pros: Great tonal qualities throughout
Cons: Put your head in a vise and squeeze...

Okay, so they are high end Klipsch phones - you expect them to sound great and they do not disappoint. That said, I don't know anyone who can wear them for more than very short duration's of time. I bought them thinking they might break in with time but the longer I owned them, the more I hated wearing them. My hat size is a very average 7.25 so it's not like I've got an over-sized melon or anything; I just don't like the feel of my head in a vise...
