Excellent but...

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Extremely comfortable, incredible sharpness
Cons: Light low notes, a bit fragile

The PS210's are an incredible headphone and we've been using them daily for about the last 6 months. The range of bud sizes included are a solid plus but what wasn't solid was the construction. Right where the plastic/rubber meets the metal between the bud that goes into the ear canal and the outer turbine-looking structure, it started to peel and separate leaving a 1-2mm intermittent gap continuing all the way around. About 4 months into use this started and continued to spread. (look at pic #4 in the gallery, the left bud -- where the rubber meets plastic and metal, all separated) This was the ONLY problem I found (maybe it was Texas' humidity or something) and they delivered what they promised tremendously. If I was prompted to buy the same pair again, I probably would.

Preliminary Review

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Solid Sound
Cons: Microphonic

Tired of earbuds that fall out and have poor sound quality, I switched to in-ear headphones, only to discover the phenomenon of microphonics. Why did I not read about this before I dropped $100?

Well, I have been searching for a replacement pair ever since. I was enticed by the reduced price and positive reviews of the PS 210, especially the comment that microphonics were not a problem (above the Y). I called Phiaton directly and asked the person who answered if he was familiar with the PS 210; he said he was. I asked if this product was microphonic, since this was the key reason I trashed my last pair of in-ear headphones. He said they were not microphonic at all. I bought them. I received them. They seemed microphonic during a preliminary test at my desk, but on the walk home, it was not noticeable at all (although it was a windy day). I'm hoping that these will work out; they have good sound quality, fit great, and have a very high build quality.

Pros: Five stars for appearance, comfort, construction quality, sound quality, and value.
Cons: Light bass response.

I can't believe these are under $100. The combination of styling, build quality, comfort, and sonic fidelity is unparalleled in this price range. Usually, you can get a good-looking, ok-sounding pair of IEMs or a great-sounding, unattractive pair at this price. I am very impressed that Phiaton could do both. These have a clear, detailed sound that reproduces music faithfully, albeit light on the bass frequencies. If you want a lot of bass, you'll have to turn the volume up to hear the impact. The good news is that the PS 210 respond well to bass boost features on music players, and they can play extremely loud without distortion. As far as comfort, these are in a class of their own. If I hold still, I sometimes can't even feel them in my ears. They stay in place nicely and appear to be very well-made. I don't see any concerns about durability. The cord below the Y-connector is also NOT microphonic, so it won't be making loud scratching noises if it rubs against clothing (normally a ubiquitous problem with IEMs in this price range). Overall, an absolutely gorgeous, great-sounding pair of IEMs. This is my first purchase from Phiaton, but definitely not my last
