Buy A Pair... Or two!

Pros: Cheap, Flat, Amazing value, Durable
Cons: Can get slightly annoying after extended hours of use
I have had these headphones for about 8 months now. I have been a serious Hi-Fi headphone guy for about a year now. I am always looking for a new pair of headphones to buy. I started with Klipsch IEMs for my first upgrade, then invested in ATH-M50s for full sized cans. After not purchasing and listening to almost a hundred headphones now, I have a good idea for what I like to hear. Let me say this about the HD681 headphones... You can't find a better pair of semi-open headphones once you take everything into consideration. EXTREMELY flat frequency response, wonderful soundstage, fairly comfortable (that is, comfortable until you have been wearing them for several hours), and an un-beatable price. I would literally suggest that every person buys a pair of these. I don't care if your budget is in the $1,000 range, you need a pair of these. Don't let the price get you, these are easily worth $100+.
My only complaints are the flimsy packaging and the discomfort after extended use. Other than that, these hold my highest respect. If I ever come into an unusually large amount of money I will buy these in mass and start handing them out to people. Beats? Oh please. Superlux HD681 are 10 times better. I strongly suggest getting an amplifier to enjoy the best these have to offer, but they are still great without one. However, you will notice a difference when you plug them into your computer.
I work with a lot of recording engineers and producers and have been trying to share these with as many as possible. To have a pair of headphones so cheap be so useful... It's ridiculous beyond measure. Just get a pair. I mean, only $30! There is no complaint that can be made once you take into consideration how much you paid for these. For the price you can also afford another pair you might be looking at in a higher price-range.
Buy a pair. Yesterday. I can't over-state how amazing these are for $30.

Super says it

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Wide, balanced response, big sound stage, clear highs
Cons:
The Superlux HD681 headphones are a super good value. They look like my AKG K-240 headphones, and sound as good - maybe better - with slightly more punchy bass. My AudioTechnica ATH-M50 headphones put you right up close to the music - almost too close - while these set you back, just off stage in the fourth row, with a bigger, more spacial sound stage. I would have been happy to pay $100 for these... so at around $40 they are a very good value. Better made, and have better clamping force (but not too much) compared to the K-240s. I might just buy another pair just to have a spare.
Just MY take... // JHR //

Great for the Price

Pros: Sound, Price
Cons: Uncomfortable, Cheap exterior
Yes the exterior looks/feels kind of cheap but they are so cheap. I have a small head but I still have to stretch the headphones out by letting them clamp around the top of a padded chair that I have or else they clamp tightly on my head. They are semi-closed back which gives them good balance. The design is obviously a knock-off but they offer very balanced neutral sound. I have other full size phones I go to for crystal highs and my UE350's for bass response but overall these don't have any weak areas.

Great headphones!

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Inexpensive, comfortable, 1/8-1/4 adapter, acoustic dampener, adjustable spring-mounted strap
Cons: Starts to hurt temples after about 5 hours of constant use (Don't judge me)
There is nothing bad to say about this AT ALL! Another reviewer was complaining about the peak in high-frequency sounds... Not for me. Maybe you are wearing your headphones back wards because the acoustic dampener covers only one side.. The side that is there when you wear it RIGHT. If I HAD to say something bad about this, it'd be that after about 5 hours of constant use, it can begin to make your temples sore. But that is all :)

Ear killer sound

Pros: inexpensive
Cons: screeching highs
Wow! These almost sound great! If they didn't have the hole in the mids followed by such a big peak in the upper treble, you could enjoy the bigger than life, somewhat bloated bass. As they are though, they are loaded with detail, and unfortunately, way too much upper treble to be something I want to listen to. I'm not willing to do the capacitor mod to these, since comfort is marginal, construction is pretty cheezy, and I'm not sure it would work anyway.
