Well worth it

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Comfort and sound isolation
Cons: none
The new Etymotic ER-4PT provides two pairs of the ER-4 glider ear tips and they are the the second most comfortable ear tips available for the Etymotic ER-4 in ear monitors. The standard foam tips irritated my inner ear canals and they were uncomfortable to use for prolonged listening sessions. These solved the problem for the most part. They also provide higher passive sound isolation than the standard foam tips. They are smooth and they feel very comfortable while providing a tight seal. I noticed that the sound changed a little bit so that it is a bit softer and rounder, but it is very slight. These are my favorite ear tips provided by Etymotic. If you want the best, then get the Comply TX-100 for the Etymotic ER-4P or ER-4S, but they are slightly more expensive although they come with the Wax Guard technology.

An excellent choice

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Comfortable, Good Seal, Good Sound
Cons:
I've had a pair of ER-4S headphones for several years now and recently ordered these new tips as an experiment. For my ears, they are much more comfortable than the triple flange, or foam tips and provide a great seal and noise isolation. I don't foresee myself going back.

More comfort for ER-4
Posted by Headphone Fan from Greensboro, NC on 2010-01-16Posted on Etymotic ER-4 Glider Eartips
Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Easier to insert, more comfort
Cons: Should be offered to older ER-4 owners as free upgrade
I found these to be much more comfortable to insert and wear. The noise isolation may not be quite as good, but in most settings they work well. No change in audio performance was detected.
