Good headphones....Just bought 2nd pair...

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Great Sound. Earpiece 3-button Apple controller.
Cons: Will break in your backpack - see review...
These headphones sound great after breakin. I hate earbuds in my ears. I use at work with my iphone 5. They comfortably stay in place and I can hear when someone speaks to me. I like the earpiece 3-button controller. I find quicker to control than a inline style. My con is that I broke my first pair when I put unprotected in my backpack. I glued back together and found a plastic container to store them in. I am buying 2nd pair because my glue job broke after a few months. Lesson learned - Store in a plastic container!

Great Jogging Headphone
Posted by carrda from Houston, TX on 2013-01-14Posted on Polk Audio UltraFit 2000
Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Comfortable, Secure fit, cable is virtually noise free, and good sound for exercise 'phone
Cons: None for this style exercise headphone
I've used many different 'phones for outdoor exercise, and the Polk UltraFit 2000 is easily the best I've found for jogging. The big plus for this design is the secure, comfortable fit. With earlier in-ear headphones I've tried for jogging, one side or the other was always popping out every five minutes or so, resulting in degraded sound and/or the hassle of re-inserting one side in my ear. Other neckband headphones I've tried may have been stable, but weren't comfortable for long periods. With these UltraFit headphones, what a pleasure to go for a half hour run with no discomfort and not having to readjust them at all! The ribbon cable is very well designed for jogging, and is virtually noise free. All other 'phones I've used have noticable cable-related noise--sometimes very irritating. And the sound is excellent for exercise headphones in this price range.

Excellent Workout Headphone with Balanced Sound
Posted by Smilin' Kev from Lake of Egypt, Illinois on 2012-02-12Posted on Polk Audio UltraFit 2000
Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Passes "sweat test"; Comfortable; Stable; Durable; Appealing sound.
Cons: Behind-the-ear stabilizers are a bit stiff and chafing.
My primary reason for buying the UltraFit 2000s was to see if I could finally find a headphone that would stand up to my extreme level of perspiration when I exercise. I have unintentionally drowned countless "exercise" headphones! However, I've been using the UltraFit 2000s every day for months -- and they have been able to take everything I've thrown (or should it be "dripped"?) at them. For this reason alone, I think they deserve at least 4 stars. In addition, the UltraFit 2000s offer a very clear, natural and well-balanced listening experience. They don't offer "mega-bass," but they do provide a level of musicality and involvement that is clearly superior to any other exercise-oriented headphone I've auditioned. I wouldn't hesitate to use them for casual listening in situations where external noise is minimal. Of course, the fact that the UltraFit 2000s do NOT isolate you from outside noise is precisely what makes them such a great headphone for outdoor running or walking. I liked them so much that I got my wife a set for Christmas - and she uses them while "power--walking" along busy campus and country routes where hearing traffic (including bicycles, rollerblades, ATVs, horses, deer, etc.) is essential for safety. We both like the fact that the 2000s come with three different types of on-ear cushions that are easy to change to fit the weather - and they have a very stout, straight, flexible cable and a handy clip that makes it easy to route and control. The only change to the 2000s that we would suggest is that the open lattice of material that slides behind the ear be made out of a material that is just a bit softer and more flexible. Overall, the UltraFit 2000 is a thoughtfully designed headphone that is great for workouts - and surprisingly enjoyable for everyday listening in relatively quiet environments. An excellent value in every respect!
