Grado Earpads (Large) Pair

Anyone who has talked to us on the phone over the past sixteen years has heard us say that Grado headphones are typically great for punchy rock&roll and modern jazz, but might lack the ultra-smooth refinement and wide soundstage expansiveness desirable for most classical, symphonic, and/or well-produced acoustic music. We just felt they were maybe slightly tonally edgy at times, especially in the upper highs. Well... pierce our tongue and hang us with speaker wire! This recent earpad design from Grado Labs basically is capable of transforming the sound signature of some Grado headphones since they can potentially alter the relationship between the ear canal and headphone speaker drivers. In our opinion, these large bowl pads seem to open up the highs -- getting rid of an annoying harshness heard around 2 kHz on some models -- and also eliminate potentially murky mid-bass resonances. Highly recommended earpad and fully interchangeable with any Grado SR or RS headphone model. Yippee!
