Shure PTH

The earphone gurus at Shure in Chicago have finally figured out a way to avoid taking your ear canal headphones out of your ears every time you need to talk to the stewardess or whenever situational awareness requires some vigilance, like negotiating city traffic or eavesdropping on the neighbors' conversation. The Shure Push-to-Hear (PTH) cable device will interconnect into any ear canal headphone and provide the convenience of hearing ambient sounds when needed but will also serve to minimize wear & tear on your delicate earphones during the fastidious and precise removal/insertion process. Activate the PTH at the press of a switch and the music automatically mutes as the invisible outside mic engages; it's a lovely thing for dedicated ear canal headphone users.

The Shure Push-to-Hear device has a 24" interconnect cable with the housing containing the PTH located in the middle. The cable terminations are gold-plated 3.5mm (1/8") plugs. The housing features a tiny built-in VoicePort microphone with an external volume control dial so you don't get blown out by loud ambient sounds. Operates from one AAA battery which is handily included with the PTH packaging. A 2-year limited product warranty remains standard with all Shure ear canal headphone products.
