Getting big sound from a small speaker is not an easy feat, but the little Finnish-made Amphion Ions deliver the most expansive & deep imaging for speakers of their size that we've managed to get our ears on. The Ion's musical detail presentation appears perfectly neutral across the frequency spectrum with an open silky extension at the top of the range that soars past most other speakers of their ilk. The Ion's 'controlled dispersion' driver alignment allows for optimal midrange purity while delivering the best image wherever you may be placed in the room. The bottom-end's textural clarity also extends reasonably low with a delectably tight focus, although you may certainly wish to consider a sub-woofer to reach way down low with effortless authority. Perhaps the most astonishing facet of the Ions is their supreme sense of space and their almost tactile presence all the way to the back of the soundstage, allowing for a complex, layered depth of musical field that leave us breathless each time we hear them.

An Amphion Ion striking cosmetic feature is their inert MDF cabinet measuring 5.25" inches wide, 10.5" inches tall, and approximately 9" inches deep making them exceedingly compact given their massive audio performance. They'll neatly tuck into any available nook or empty corner on your workstation desktop and they'll also fit & look sublime on our wonderfully effective HeadRoom Speaker Stands which serve to position the speakers at perfect ear height & tilt axis for precision audio imaging ability. Naturally, the Amphions' sheer synergy with our own stellar Class-D HeadRoom Speaker Power Amps is also something to marvel at. Plus the speakers are deceptively light too at only 10 lbs each which means you won't require teamsters or risk a hernia moving them around and positioning as needed.
