ONLY 1 LEFT!!
With characteristic Grado dynamics, detail and musical presence, these completely open-back 'on-ear' headphones offer only a slight sonic compromise below the heavily lauded but significantly pricier SR225i sound. The look of the Grado SR125i may perhaps be old-school retro, but the clean acoustic performance of these made-in-the-USA headphones is modern as can be for listeners seeking a lively 'front-row' audiophile headphone without investing a month's pay.

What We Think:
The Grado SR125i mid-price 'on-ear' model perhaps gets a bit lost in the big crowd of Grado Labs headphones, and if you are set on a truly impressive Grado flavor for your headphone collection, stretching for the excellent SR225i remains a commendable idea. But if the budget simply won't allow and you still want to get the most high-end Grado headphone experience at the lowest possible investment, the SR 125 i will satisfy by delivering a typically lively, very present Grado tonal signature, slightly forward in the mids / highs with clear overall musical detail resolution and a tight, punchy low bass response. It's actually a very engaging audio response character for modern and classic rock genres most especially, along with well-recorded acoustic music. The overall soundstage perspective is a bit narrow and up-front so classical or symphonic listeners may miss the sense of precise orchestral placement available with the top 'PS' or 'GS' Grado models. The SR125i earpads and headband fit can tend to be somewhat uncomfortable for some listeners, but this can be somewhat remedied by gently [gently! -ed.] bending the headband to better fit the top of the wearer's head and/or by getting a set of the foam Grado 'Large' bowl-type of earpads.
The SR125i are basically hand-constructed -- as with many Grado Labs products -- at their small Brooklyn USA facility and employ 100% proprietary speaker drivers perfectly matched to .1dB with voice coils made of Grado's also-proprietary ultra-high purity, long-crystal, oxygen-free copper wiring. The SR125i have the traditional Grado basic flexible leather headband and use simple metal height adjusters to connect the earcups to the headband, thus allowing for up-&-down fit adjustments plus full 360-degree earcup rotation. This feature is ideal for laying the headphones down flat for storage and/or transit. The standard SR-125i earpads are the Grado S-CUSH [mesh] style; we recommend considering the 'doughnut' pad type mentioned above for improved comfort. The approximately 7.5ft straight-type headphone cord attaches to both earpieces in a Y-type connection and terminates to a full-size 1/4' stereo plug. If you need to plug into a smaller 1/8' [3.5mm] mini-jack on your iPod or computer audio source, you will need the Grado Labs 1/4'-to-1/8' mini-plug adapter flex-cable . The 1-year manufacturer's warranty is serviced exclusively through Grado Labs in Brooklyn NY USA with your 'authorized dealer' HeadRoom purchase receipt.
