Our all-out assault on ultimate headphone audio amplification! Absolutely no expense was spared when selecting the parts and hardware for the Max line. The module is a deep 'Class-A' biased topology using our own HeadRoom version of the exquisite Walt Jung-designed discrete solid-state Diamond Buffer as output power amp and uber sweet-sounding Burr-Brown OPA627 op-amps for all the other active stages in the module. Inside you’ll also find the best Black Gate Caps, custom-built stepped attenuators, and crazy available upgrades to rarified $1500 potentiometers; Outside you’ll find bright-dipped, anodized six-piece black aluminum extruded enclosures buttressed by massive machined aluminum front & rear panels. Clearly our flagship product and not for the faint of heart OR wallet!
• Max Headphone Amp. This amp exists simply to be lusted after. The Home Amp with Max module upgrade is 99% as good as this amp. But, oh, what that last one percent gets you!... You not only hear the walls around the players but you hear the space between them and the ceiling texture, too.
• Balanced Max Amp. No one really needs this amp; there’s just no excuse for it. Unless, of course, you can afford thoughts like, “I can hear the 2nd cellist breathing through his nose. He needs to clip his left nostril nose hairs.” Personally, we have a hard time thinking at all when we listen to this amp; It's pure sonic bliss like virtuoso musicians playing a concert inside your mind.
