beyerdynamic DT 250-80

The DT250-80 has long been one of our favorite mid-priced sealed cans around the HeadRoom offices. Though lacking a bit in ultra-detailed audio refinement, these cans have a mildly warm balance and a punchy, cleanly dynamic sound -- a good headphone for contemporary well-produced music of all types. Designed originally for studio applications, these are well-engineered and durably built headphones; a great choice for the noisy workplace, office, or even the home listener who wants to shut out the rest of the world and get some peaceful isolation from distracting ambient sounds. It’s also a reasonably comfortable headphone to wear for longer listening sessions. This version is the nicely efficient 80-ohm edition. Check out the nearly identical beyerdynamic DT250-250 model if seeking the lower efficiency (higher-impedance) design for recording studio use or for partnering the headphones with a powerful home stereo and/or portable headphone amplifiers.

The DT250-80 is solidly designed to easily withstand heavy daily use ...and then some. The construction materials are very tough plastic polymer and lightweight aluminum metal, with sealed-earcup velour earpads and a cushy pleather-padded headband. It also has a 8-foot detachable coiled cord terminated in a threaded combo 1/8" (3.5mm) mini-plug jack. The cord can be quickly replaced by the consumer if ever the need arises. A full-size 1/4" inch adapter plug is also handily included in the DT250 package. A 2-year manufacturer's product warranty remains standard with all beyerdynamic headphones.
