AKG K 240 S

The original and venerable 240M served for many years as the reference headphone in professional studios across America. Hoping to catch on with the listener at home as well as in the studio, AKG introduced the 240 Studio. Those looking for some bottom-end punch will like these 240S headphones a lot. The lower range is pushed forward with the midrange a little behind that and the highs slightly recessed. They are efficient enough to get moderate listening levels with most portable players. Although these headphones share the same numerical appellation as the 240M and 240DF, they are not designed for true reference use.

The 240S has a single-sided straight cable that exits from the left earcup. With their semi-open design, you get very little isolation and sound does leak out. Their self-adjusting headband, lightweight design and circumaural vinyl ear pieces make them very comfortable. A 10-foot cable terminates to an 1/8" mini-plug. A full-size 1/4" adaptor is included in the package.
