Ultrasone DJ1

The DJ1 kicks off the Ultrasone line of headphones designed specifically for use by musicians, DJs, sound engineers, and bedroom producers smacking down funky beats. The closed-back (aka 'sealed') earcup DJ1 have a clean textured bass response with slightly recessed but nevetheless present upper treble/highs. Although lacking the organically uber-smooth cohesion between the various sonic frequencies of more expensive sealed-category headphones, the DJ1's well-bracketed bass response and punchy snap might be just the thing for hip-hop or working club DJs and musicians/percussionists looking for good musical clarity extension at a reasonable investment. Perhaps not the best headphone candidate for demanding audiophile-types seeking pure reference neutrality but likely a good choice in loud noisy club environments or for listeners focusing on critical but subtle recording & mixing details in their home studio.

These full-size 'cirmcumaural' cans are constructed with Ultrasone's newly improved polymer headband design with hinged earcups so one can fold up the headphones for portabilty & ease of storage. The new DJ1's bling factor has also been updated with a more mod look over the plasticene cosmetics of yore. The DJ1 earcups will swivel away & can also set into the headband, perfect for lumpy transit inside a backpack or for DJ mono-mixing with one ear. The medium-size circumaural earpieces are covered in a plushy black pleather-type material that is also used under the headband for long-wearing comfort. A tidy black velveteen carrying pouch is provided. The coiled & straight 'combination' 9-foot headphone cord exits from the left earpiece and comes terminated to a mini-plug stereo 1/8" [3.5mm] plug; a screw-on 1/8"-to-1/4" adaptor is handily included in the package. A 2-yr product warranty remains standard with all Ultrasone-USA headphones.
