For listeners seeking one of the top affordable sealed headphones without digging too deep into the pocketbook, the Beyerdynamic DT235 is a great update of Beyer's highly successful DT231 model and offers superb entry into quality headphone audio. It's an excellent choice for portable iPod, iPad, MP3, WalkMan, DVD player and laptop computer listeners and presents an extremely well-detailed clarity from any stereo or home component due to the DT235 efficient impedance ratings and advanced beyerdynamic audio driver engineering. Expect clean musical detail through all frequencies with an uncomplicated voice / speech / vocal presence and a full tone in the bass that's not overly exaggerated. Perhaps not the best candidate for hip-hop or big bass lovers but a top consideration for those seeking a highly intelligible, balanced tone. The DT235 mid-sized sealed earcups provide a mild degree of ambient isolation, although the noise-blocking factor is limited due to the smaller earpad dimensions. The DT235 looks are basic and understated thus avoiding attracting undue attention, perhaps a nice plus in the hectic big city. Overall, a standout value-buy not only in 'budget' sealed headphones, but in the entire sub-$75 headphone category.
The Beyerdynamic DT235 have a simple but durably built plastic polymer headband assembly with 'supra-aural' [on-ear] fabric-padded cushions that are slightly smaller than those found on full-size headphones. For many wearers, this lightweight design remains one of the more comfortable portable headphones in the entire on-ear 'sealed/closed' category. Basic fit adjustment is provided via a soft spring-loaded inner strap made of a pliable rubbery material...did we mention this is a VERY comfortable headphone?! The DT235 has a straight, fairly long 2.5-meter [8ft approx] headphone cord exiting from the left earcup, thus eliminating clumsy double 'Y-cord' tangles. The headphone cord terminates to a 1/8" [3.5mm] 'mini' plug; a "screw-on" full-size 1/4" stereo plug adapter also comes provided on the cord. The nice 2-year manufacturer's product warranty remains standard with all Beyerdynamic headphones when proof-purchased from Beyerdynamic-authorized vendors -- like us here at HeadRoom since 1992!

Yes it is! These are so comfortable. The sound is much better than I expected for the price. I'd intended these for minor use at the computer I use for printing photographs, but I've taken to using them a lot with my iPod in a lot of situations. Initially I thought they sounded a little echo-y, like the sound was coming through a tube, but more listening and that's not my perception any more.
They have typical headphone "it's all in your head" imaging, but very good sound quality. Can hear inner instruments and all types of music come across well, from Bach to Orbital. I have fancier, more expensive headphones for when I'm just listening to music, so these do what I wanted, give me something with good enough quality to support work, and wear for a long time. I'd find it hard to imagine getting better sealed headphones at the price point. I've had some much more expensive and fancier headphones in the past that were nowhere near the clarity and balance of these.
They look kind of plastic-y, not particularly sharp looking, but I didn't buy them for looks - I bought them for good sound and great comfort.
Well - they sound good and I can wear them for hours!
