Sennheiser Adidas PMX 680 'neckband' headphones have a nifty vertical transducer speaker system and secure headband fit that won't fall out or come loose during your most active get-after-it workouts. Further, the PMX 680 headphone has an easy-fit neckband design suitable for nearly any head size -- a wonderful but rare plus in this category. The PMX 680 excellent ergonomics ensure long-term comfort without sacrificing wearing stability or impacting sound quality as you actively move about. A volume adjuster keeps you in handy control of your tunes and a (detachable) extension cable allows positioning your player wherever you need it. The tough Kevlar-reinforced cabling guarantees durability and flexibility where most other sport headphones simply can't function properly -- like here in our extra-cold Montana temperatures. The sweat-proof, water-resistant PMX 680 design lets you go your hardest during any shoulder season when weather conditions may not be perfect but you still need some killer tunes to power through your hard workout.

The Sennheiser adidas PMX 680 is amongst HeadRoom's biggest-selling exercise headphones, thanks in part to a terrific accessories fit-kit making the PMX680 a complete user-ready package. The Sennheiser packaging box includes extra sets of replaceable earpads, a useful travel/storage pouch along with a handy cable shirt clip for minimizing cord slack when you're moving. In the rare event you'll ever need it, the strong 2-year manufacturer's product warranty is serviced or replaced for free by Sennheiser-USA ONLY with an authorized dealer 'proof-of-purchase' receipt -- like the one you'll get here at HeadRoom!

Good but not great.

Recommend Product: No
Pros: Behind head Decent sound
Cons: not sturdy, uncomfortable

I bought these to fit below my climbing helmet for long approaches with large loads (they do this but a little uncomfortable particularly under a hood), I had been running the old PX200 and really loved there sound. For some reason these just don't come close to the sound of the PX200 (sorry no numbers, just subjective feelings). Lets get to my real issue. Look at the Picture of these. See the yellow ear-buds, these have two bands of unglued rubber built in that rotate on them selves and at worst rub off into your ear. I have had to rebuild this rubber bit on the "buds" more and more as they get older. They still work but are only 10 months old. OK enough bad. The sound is "OK" and they do sit behind your neck. Possibly there best function is the controller on the one sided cord. I fell for these, but will get a better sounding headphone that is not intended for sports next time. I think the "sports" category is asking for a downgrade that looks cool.

Best Workout Headphone
Posted by rkymtnbiker from Ogden, UT on 2012-01-15

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: GREAT sound, stays in place, good cabling options
Cons: none

I've tried several different types of headphones for exercising. Here's a quick rundown of the pros and cons of these other headphones in the context of important attributes I need in an exercise headphone:

1. Koss Porta Pro
a. Pros: Good sound, stay in place well
b. Cons: warmer than ear buds, can't be worn with a bike helmet
2. Individual ear loop ear buds
a. Pros: stay in place pretty well, can be used with a bike helmet
b. Cons: Still come loose at times, poor sound
3. Koss KSC 75
a. Pros: Good sound, can be worn with a bike helmet
b. Cons: Flop around a lot when running
4. Plantronics Backbeat 906
a. Pros: No wires
b. Cons: Uncomfortable fit, noise from the neckband rubbing, intermittent bluetooth connection, come loose easily

The PMX 680 meets all the attributes I need and more!
They have GREAT sound; I was astounded when I heard the quality of sound from what I originally thought were glorified earbuds. They compare favorably to my Grado SR 60s in sound quality.
The headphones are surprisingly comfortable; but, at the same time they are tight enough to stay securely in place. Also, the neckband doesn't rub and make noise. And, being neckband headphones, they can be worn with a bike helmet. Also, they don't completely plug your ears so you can hear important outside noises, (like cars or someone yelling at you).
Finally, water resistance, superior materials, nighttime visibility and the options for cable length are all icing on the cake.

Highly recommended!
