The Monster Beats by Dre Studio headphones are amongst the most in-demand cans in all of headphone-land and it's no wonder why; they have something for every listener. According to Monster founder Noel Lee, the Beats went through 150 product design iterations before Dr.Dre and Monster were completely happy, and the extreme attention to detail clearly shows in both form and function. The Studio headphones offer astonishingly cool looks, extremely comfortable design ergonomics, true "active" powered noise-cancelling design, and surprising sound quality all in a circumaural ['around the ear'] sealed full-size headphone ready for the streets, airplane, iPod / iPhone or home stereo. If hearing all the bass present in your music is a top demand, the Beats by Dr.Dre easily deliver the full dynamics & sonic detail of the recording like you've never heard it. It's a clear contender to be amongst the top audio performers in the entire 'noise-cancelling' category and amongst the best-looking headphones we've laid eyes on. The Beats by Dre Studio are cool cans for hip hip-hop audio mavens rockin' in style.

The Monster Beats by Dr.Dre Studio headphones have a black-with-red-accents high-gloss finish that sets them apart from the usual boring grey headphones. Solid build quality includes: full headband collapsibility for travel, nicely comfortable sealed-back earcups and extra-soft earcup padding, and a matching red, fully detachable, flat-wound micro-cord that is terminated to a high-quality gold-plated 1/8" [3.5mm] mini-plug jack. The proprietary (of course!) Monster Beats by Dr.Dre headphone flat-wound, non-tangle cord extends only about 3.5 ft -- which is ideal for portable listening -- and features straight 3.5mm plug on both ends. This ingenious flat-wound micro-strand cabling nicely resists tangling while looking schweet in the process. Killer headphones and rated as "highly recommended" by our HeadRoom hip-hop fanatics!

The free 1-year manufacturer's repair or replacement warranty remains intact ONLY when purchased from true "authorized" Monster headphone dealers -- like HeadRoom-Headphone.com. Please keep in mind the Beats by Dre headphones are the MOST counterfeited headphones in the history of the industry and, according to Monster, 99% of the Monster Beats sold via un-authorized channels (Amazon, eBay, etc) are fakes! So PLEASE make sure your Monster purchase is made at a true authorized Monster headphone dealer.

What an upgrade
Posted by Reedo from Stowe, VT on 2012-02-15

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Comfortable, Look awesome
Cons: lousy noise-canceling

I've been monkeying around with low-end skullcandies for a while, and these were like a gift from god after those. They get used every day at home, in the car, and at school, and I've had no problems with durability. They hold up fine when crammed in an overstuffed backpack, and that alone should vouch for the construction of these. While I'm sure you could shop around and find better headphones for a similar price (Klipsch, Sennheiser, AKG, etc.), none of those brands are as recognizable as these. Whether or not that's a good thing is up to you. These headphones certianly make a statement, and not everybody's comfortable with that. If that's what you're going for, then these headphones are tough to beat.

As for sound quality: the only thing I have to compare them to are my dad's Bose headphones (not sure of the model- sorry. They're the noise-canceling over-ear ones, though- same as these), and while the Bose are good, these are great. The response is good at nearly every frequency, although it seems like parts of the bass range respond better than others. This is only a slight complaint, though, as it's not very noticeable. One thing that frustrates me, though, is the noise canceling. While it's a nice thing to have, it could deifnitely be better. The Bose have a far better noise-canceling capability than these. Also, you have to turn the noise-canceling on for the headphones to work. This can be frustrating, especially if I'm using them in school. Some headphones are able to still operate with the noise canceling off, and I get the sense that this would be a useful feature. Other than that, though, no complaints. These are a great set of cans, and I'd happily recommend them to potential purchasers. In fact, I already have.

Under rated amazing headphones!

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Precise sound, gorgeous make, and made by two music giants, Monster cable, and the man, Dr. Dre!!
Cons: A bit pricey, would like to see a matte finish option.

I am blown away by these headphones. Any guilt I had of paying 320$ US for a pair of headphones was quickly erased when I hooked these amazing headphones up to my iPhone 4 and hearing just how gorgeous music can sound when carefully designed by two music giants like Monster cable and Dr. Dre!!!

Highly recommend these to everyone who appreciates good music played on headphones that understand just how to produce it in a small package. I mean these things sound as good if not clearer than my Cerwin Vegas!

Not bad....

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Comfort, Sound isolation
Cons: Sound leak, bad durability

I personally don't have a pair of studios, but my friend has one and I wear them a lot. The Studios have a great sound quality. The bass is strong and the low ends are perfect. High ends and middles are better than my Tours. I think thats the reason that they are much more expensive. The sound isolation can isolate lots. But the problem is the sound leaks out when you have your volume over... 3/5 of the iPod volume bar. The durability is not really impressive because the headphone's foldable ends are not strong. They are feeble. My friend's one started to have cracks after half a year. The other friend's foldable ends are really difficult to fold and almost cracking. Those were the bad points. The rest are pretty much great. The price COULD be lowered to like the price HeadRoom is offering. It would be better if HeadRoom could have the 300 price with the limited colors. If they do, I would get these right away.
