Phiaton describes their unique PS210 as a “half in-ear” headphone offering the most comfortable fit ergonomics and wearing experience possible for the category. The PS210's nicely engineered shallow-fit style is able to combine the warm bass response of deep-fitting audiophile in-ear headphones and the clearly detailed highs of analytical monitoring earphones with the wearing comfort of simple earbuds -- all at a fabulous price. The PS210’s lightweight aluminum housing allows for hours of comfortable listening while on the move, flying the skies, or at the gym. Ideal for your personal music player, Apple iPad or Kindle e-reader, the PS210 feature a proprietary Applied Dynamic Speaker Driver using Phiaton's own acoustic transducer technology for rich bass and amazingly extended high range fidelity. Really superb style too as evidenced by the PS210 earphones taking home the coveted Red-Dot design award for 2010.
The Phiaton PS210 includes soft silicon eartips in four sizes to ensure a natural fit and great sound quality performance. Exceptionally easy ergonomics even for earphone newcomers due to the PS210 shallow in-ear "seat" and unique build engineered for maximum wearing comfort, even during those extra-long listening sessions on endless cross-country flights or road trips. Isolation levels remain mild due to the PS210 shallow fit style, but that may perhaps be considered a good thing for listeners intent on remaining somewhat aware of their surroundings. Solid strain relief in place at each of the cable earpiece joins ensures maximum cord durability and minimal cable microphonics noise. The strong 1 year manufacturer's warranty remains standard when proof-purchased from true 'authorized' Phiaton dealers -- like HeadRoom!

Pros: Solid Sound
Cons: Microphonic
Well, I have been searching for a replacement pair ever since. I was enticed by the reduced price and positive reviews of the PS 210, especially the comment that microphonics were not a problem (above the Y). I called Phiaton directly and asked the person who answered if he was familiar with the PS 210; he said he was. I asked if this product was microphonic, since this was the key reason I trashed my last pair of in-ear headphones. He said they were not microphonic at all. I bought them. I received them. They seemed microphonic during a preliminary test at my desk, but on the walk home, it was not noticeable at all (although it was a windy day). I'm hoping that these will work out; they have good sound quality, fit great, and have a very high build quality.
