Applications:
Professional DJ users and music lovers alike will apreciate the excellent value of the Ortofon O2 headphones. Given their reasonable cost, the upscale sound performance is perfectly suitable for demanding pro monitoring applications and casual listeners rocking portable players with no amp needed. The O2's mid-sized on-ear construction delivers the lightweight slim-profile wearing experience of "on ear" earpad headphones with the excellent noise-blocking (isolation) ability of larger full-size circumaural cans, especially important for club work or for listening privacy in noisy environs. Recordists and producers needing top-sounding headphones with no "leakage" for close-mic vocal work or doing backing tracks may have found their heavy-duty can of choice. The O2's extra-rugged durable construction will take constant use and come back ready for more work every time.
The Ortofon 02 headphones have mid-sized on-ear earpads that will tend to rest on the outer part of the earlobes for most wearers. The earcups have a somewhat oval shape (as opposed to the Ortofon O-One's completely circular earpieces) that makes these slightly easier to deal with for transport and storage; the smaller dimensions also help to make this an inordinately lightweight can for a high-performance sealed-back pro DJ model. The O2 outer earcups sport cool Ortofon logo graphics just slightly more laid-back than the colorful O-One design. The earcups fold & collapse down into the headband, making a nice small bundle, and both earpieces can also independently flip away for one-ear 'mono' DJ mixing. The hard-wired (non detachable) cord is a combination straight-type (exiting the left earcup), becoming a coiled cord halfway down as it gets towards the 1/8" [3.5mm] plug end. The O2 cable measures about 10.5ft when fully extended; a full-size [screw-on] 1/4" plug adapter is handily found on the cord. The 1 year manufacturer's warranty remains standard when purchased from true authorized Ortofon dealers -- like HeadRoom!

Pros: very eifficient, they sound great even without my amp
Cons: sometimes too loud! but thats good when dj-ing so it doesnt really count as a con...
The bass on these headphones is definitely there, so if you are used to Grados or something similar, you might not like how forward the bass is. That said its nothing like the boomy garbage bass you get from say Bose products. It is clear and very accurate.
Vocals, mids and highs are very clear and accurate too.
Comfort is getting better every day, as the headband breaks in and stops squeezing so much.
Build quality seems to be superb. I throw these in my backpack with books, travel mugs and everything. I can carry them around and toss my bag on the floor without worrying at all. The plastic is really tough, and has some flex to it, which I especially like.
Other products I have owned: Grado Sr-60, Etymotic ER6, Bose Quiet Comfort(original version)
And obviously the sound quality rating is given based on what I can compare these to, and relative to their price! no way could these compare to the likes of hd-800's or other $500++ priced cans!
Overall, I love these headphones. if im not careful, i will soon be deaf!
