Recommend Product: No
Pros: lightweight, comfort, design
Cons: Poor lows, Weak mids, Annoyingly sharp highs, Almost no staging at all !
So I won't deny the good design, comfort and good style of these pair, but as I said before sound quality is all that matters.
I used to have a pair of Creative EP-830 which is way better than these in terms of sound quality, powerful bass, clear mids and crisp highs.
The only complaint I had with my Creative ear-buds was a little bit sharpness with higher mids at high volume, also the staging wasn't satisfying.
When I saw these pairs on the shelf of a local retailer, I was tempted by design and being a Sony product, I thought this would be better than my Creative, but I was totally wrong !
Bass is very week (Incomparable to Creative's stunning bass).
Lower mids are weak also, and it gets better as we move toward higher mids resulting in unbalanced, un-natural listening experience.
Highs is the only powerful response coming out from these pair, and even it comes in a too powerful way resulting in sharp annoying sound experience,
With almost no sound staging at all.
I've tried these pair with my Nokia 5130 XpressMusic, Samsung Galaxy S and iPhone 3G, I even connected them to my Dell Studio laptop, trying with all their players equalizers to tweak the sound and to grasp a pleasant sound experience out of them, but I've failed with them all.
My advice is Go for another pair !

Pros: Outstanding clarity, Very comfortable, Fantastic Price
Cons: Midrange could be slightly warmer
I've been using a pair of Sony MDR-EX85s for almost two years, and these ones blew those right out of the water in terms of clarity and price.
The build quality is standard Sony fare, with plastic enclosure with pseudo-metal trim. The cord is quite thin and tangles easily, which can be a pain sometimes.
Overall, these headphones are definitely worth the price. My one and only major complaint is that the mids could sound a little warmer with a larger tone, but other than that, these headphones are nearly perfect.
