Learn More About Open Headphones

Open back headphones have the back of their earcups or earpieces "open" or vented to the outside world. This design 'leaks' out more sound from the headphone and also lets in more ambient/environmental noises into the headphone.

However, open back designs can provide a more natural or speaker-like airiness to the musical presentation and a more spacious "soundstage image" (the perception of distance from the source), making them the best listening experience for discerning audiophiles.

Open headphones are not typically ideal for use in quiet spaces like libraries or offices because they do leak sound, meaning those around you will hear your music loud and clear.

If ambient noise isolation is important for your listening situation, take a look at our Closed/Sealed Headphones instead.
