New Audeze iSine20 planar magnetic in-ear headphones.  Coming early December 2016 from Audeze!

Our entire headphone.com review team had the opportunity to spend a bit of quality time with the pre-release versions of the Audeze iSine in-ear headphones at the 2016 Rocky Mountian Audio Show in Denver. We thought they were clearly the star breakout product at the event.

The sound from the open-back iSine planar magnetic earpieces was beautifully detailed, vastly expansive and deeply smooth with a solid bass slam that made us re-think the concept of what defines a superior low-end response in the in-ear category. It's obvious the proprietary Fluxor magnet arrays Audeze miniaturized down from their full-size headphones capably deliver the same intense level of resolution and soft / loud dynamic shadings as their big audiophile cans.

The iSine 20 model offers slightly better imaging and low-end texture compared to the less expensive iSine 10 edition - but the overall acoustic differences are not at all 'night & day'. Listeners can expect a bit more refinement and transparency from the upscale iSine20 with slightly faster dynamic quickness into the top end. We also heard the iSine 20 as having a bit more instrumental body and sense of heft in the critical midrange frequencies that allowed voices to sound full-throated without evident grain or stress. It's a well-paced, non-fatiguing musical presentation that seemed like it would be easy to enjoy for hours on end.

Perhaps the biggest design difference between these and most other in-ear headphone is that the iSine are an open-back earpiece design meaning ambient noise isolation is not a part of the equation with these. In fact, you'll be able to hear loud conversation and environmental noises leak into the iSine headphones. This may perhaps be considered a good thing for those listeners who want to remain at least somewhat aware of their surroundings while jamming out.

The included iSine 20 Apple Lightning plug cable is ready for your iPhone 7 or new Apple iOS device. The cable features the Audeze Cipher 24-bit DAC / amp built into the cord which lends the iSine headphones excellent tone-shaping flexibility along with some glossy DSP audio shine. At just 20 grams, the iSine earpieces feel very light in the ears and the unique Audeze eartip fit and earhook loops keep the iSine securely in your ears. The free 2-year Audeze manufacturer's warranty remains fully in place with your headphone.com authorized dealer purchase.
