Great adapter
Posted by StratCat from Cuernavaca, Mexico on 2010-02-11

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Good value
Cons: none that I can think of

A definite improvement, in mechanical terms, to the adapter that came with my K701's. It offers good quality of materials and manufacture, and it's cheaper than the Cardas adapter.

Great plug
Posted by A HeadRoom Fan from washington, dc on 2010-02-10

Recommend Product: Yes

Whatever you think about the sound of Grado headphones, they make great accessories. They don't make many, but what they do make are essential and very well built. This is no exception.

Good Quality Adapter
Posted by Erasure from SF Bay Area on 2010-01-18

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Durable, High Quality
Cons: Expensive, Heavy

I have a Sennheiser HD 555 that terminates to a 1/4" plug but intended to use it with my PC's headphone jack, which of course is a 1/8" (3.5mm) jack. Though the HD 555 came with a straight adapter, I chose to purchase a flexible adapter to minimize the strain on the headphone jack. I decided on the Grado over the Hosa and Cardas because it seemed like a good compromise between the cheaper and the most expensive adapters. Not very scientific, I know :)

I was surprised that the Grado came in a large vinyl pouch and even more surprised at the size. It is very hefty for an adapter and seems very durable at that. There is 8 inches of high quality cable between the plugs. The 1/4" plug is long, heavy, and built like a tank. In fact, the whole adapter is a bit larger and heavier than I think I would have liked personally. Plugged into my Droid mobile phone, it looks rather unwieldy. Still, you can't beat the quality and Grado guarantees that you will not lose any sonic quality from the use of their adapter. In hindsight, for my use, I think the Hosa may have been better as it appears to be about half the length. If the length is beneficial or inconsequential, then I highly recommend the Grado adapter.
