Digital to analog converters transform binary [0s and 1s] digital music data into an analog audio signal. HeadRoom manufactures our own Montana-made proprietary line of digital to analog converters (DACs) both as internal installations within a headphone amp and as separate 'stand-alone' D-A components. We also retail a variety of truly stand-out DAC products from other manufacturers. DACs will convert optical, coaxial S/PDIF and USB computer digital audio signals into an richly detailed analog music signal that can be fed to an amplifier or dedicated headphone amp to drive headphones and/or speakers.
