Japan-based DENON has been researching and developing serious audio products since the dawn of electricity. It's highly likely they brought their entire engineering arsenal to bear on the DENON AH-C360 earphones given their superb sound quality at this nearly unheard-of pricepoint. The AH-C360's punchy bass response is not lacking robust fullness nor does it become overly pumped up to the point where the headphones become sonically unbalanced.  The highs are as competently extended as anything we've heard at the price and manage to avoid the deadly tonal sin of screechiness or an unpleasant-sounding timbral 'edge'. Vocals are engaged, present and nicely transparent at all frequency ranges. The DENON AH-C360 in-ear fit is not overly invasive or excessively deep into the ear canal, a great plus for newcomers and experienced folks alike wearing in-ears during extra-long listening sessions. A highly impressive in-ear headphone from A/V wizards DENON at a highly attractive price.

4 sets of black silicon-rubber flex eartips are provided with the DENON AH-C360 earphones in XS/S/M/L sizing. The newly redesigned, DENON-patented Radial Cascade Damper cord construction on the AH-C360 minimizes transmitted cord contact/vibration artifacts into the ear which helps lend a pleasingly quiet listening experience free of jarring cable contact noise and always-dreaded cord 'microphonics'. The 1 year free 'repair or replace' manufacturer's premium product warranty is serviced exclusively by DENON-USA located in Mahwah, New Jersey only with your exclusive HeadRoom DENON-authorized dealer purchase receipt.

Incredibly Underated Performer
Posted by Lawlee from Sunnyvale California on 2010-10-09

Recommend Product: Yes
Pros: Good noise isolation
Cons: Stock eartips are not a good fit for my ears

These are amazingly punchy headphones.

I have auditioned Etymotic’s venerable 4's, Shures, Ultimate Ears, and owned various so-called high end Sony earbuds, and recently the Klipsch S4i and S4s.

Klipsch S4i headphones which i had previously failed twice in less than 6 months. They don't seem to be terribly good with buttons. And after hearing the Denons, I don't feel they're terribly good with sound. Comparatively the Klipsch s4 sound compressed. These on the other hand have a dramatically more open sound and moderate sound isolation. To my picky ears these fit and are the best sounding of the bunch.

I make use of a Comply’s Ts-400 foam tips. I have revised my review to recommend these foam tips because the double flange tips that I used to use from Ultimate Ears are no longer available. Hands down, the Comply tips are the most comfortable ear tips I have ever used. I put these Comply tips in my ears practically every night and sleep throughout the night listening to music, or drowning out noise with no discomfort. They are amazing. Coupled with the Denon headphones you have got arguably the best sounding set up that you can buy at this price.

Cables are a little on the thin side. One might argue that this minimizes microphonics. Through heavy use for a year, sweating them out on a nearly daily basis I have had no problems. My iPod shows more wear and tear.

I am so happy with these earphones that I bought a second pair just for backup. I'll update this review to reflect when and how these earphones fail. But judging by how are holding up, please don't hold your breath...

Highly recommended. If you're still using the standard iPod Or iPhone headphones buy these. You will have happy ears!
