Earbuds are small in-ear headphones often sold with audio devices, and typically block little outside noise
'Earbud' headphones seat within the outer concha ridge of the ear, the small cupped area around the ear canal located in the center of your outer ear. Earbud headphone designs block little (if any) outside ambient noise but can be quite easy and comfortable to wear for many listeners. Please see our HeadRoom selection guide for in ear headphones which are similar to earbuds but fit deeper into the ear canal, thus blocking much ambient noise and offering a more secure 'earplug-like' wearing experience. Most earbuds are highly efficient and can be used directly with iPod, iPad and all portable players. Many earbuds are fairly inexpensive and are not renown for great sound quality, but we've carefully selected some of the best performing earbuds available.
